Levi let you down gently once he made it to his room. Nervous about what could happen next you asked him, "Why are we here?" He pointed to his window without saying a word. Not understanding what he meant by it you raised your eyebrows. After staring at each other for what felt like a minute he finally rolled his eyes and asked, "Can you please climb out the window and take the ladder to the roof?"

Still not entirely sure what he was up to, you agreed and climbed up to the roof. Once on the roof you were greeted by an impromptu midnight picnic. Blankets were strewn out with a big plate of bread, crackers, fruit and cheese and a candle at the center of it all. Not sure how to respond to it you asked, "What is this?"

"Just sit down."

You listened and he wrapped another blanket around you then sat beside you. It was an even colder night than last night without the breeze. Pointing at the plate, Levi said to you, "I have a feeling you didn't eat after our meeting and you drank half a bottle of wine so eat up." Your eyebrow lifted, "How do you know I drank wine?"

"You didn't bother to hide the bottle in your room and your breath reeks of it," he teased. You blushed and stared at the lit candle, not sure what to do or say next.

You heard him let out a frustrated huff. He sounded annoyed but when you finally looked up to see him, he looked calm and unbothered. He broke the bread, hollowed it a bit and stuffed it with cheese and fruit and then handed it to you, "Eat. Now."

"Thank you," you took it from his hand. Before you took a bite you asked, "Can you tell me what we are doing up here?" He waited to make sure you took a bite before answering. "I wanted to apologize. I am dedicated to the survey corps and I live my life to a certain degree of discipline. And you, you just barged in demanding to discuss something private while I was working," he said, looking up to the night sky.

"This doesn't sound like an apology," you said, mouth half full.

Levi gave you side eye before continuing, "If you would just let me get to it. I reacted harshly. You caught me off guard and I didn't want to admit it. I didn't feel like it was the right place to bring up our feelings and instead of telling you to meet with me another time I threatened you. So.. I am... sorry." He turned his head just enough to see you struggling to get your last piece of food down.

"One sec, I'll be right back," he said as he popped up. He came back with a pitcher. "I made this. It's lavendar tea over ice," he said as he poured you a glass.

"I accept your apology," you said as you took a swig. "Now that we have that out of the way... Can we talk about the obvious or is this too much of a professional setting?" You asked with a playful attitude.

He smirked. In all the time you've known Levi he's only smiled a small handful of times so you felt like you had really acheived something in that moment.

"Have you heard the names Furlan and Isabella before?" He asked while staring at the blanket he was sitting on.

"Yes, actually. They joined the same time you did right?" You respond after taking another sip.

"Yes but they weren't just soldiers joining at the same time as I did. They were my best friends. I loved and took care of them like the siblings I never had. All it took was one titan and they were gone." He took a swig.
"I've noticed a pattern in my life and it's that the people I love most always die."

You blushed. Does that mean he loves me? Am I reading into this?
"The point of all of this is I am scared. Scared that one day you'll die, too. So maybe it's better to not fall for you," he stared up at the sky now, waiting for your response.

Your heart immediately broke. This poor guy. He's lost too much.
You took one of his hand in yours, "Hey, I'm scared too but who's to say that you won't die first?"

Levi chuckled and shook his head, "I won't. Trust me." Cocky bastard.

You felt a sting. He was right. Who were you fooling? As good as you were, he's the strongest solider the military has. It was highly likely you were going to die before him but that didn't mean you couldn't enjoy and experience life because of it.

"Levi, you stunt your growth as a human being if you deprive yourself of relationships because you are scared."

" 'Stunt your growth' huh?" He side eyed you.

You immediately blushed and felt your ears burn, "Oh my god, you know I didn't mean it that way!" You smacked his shoulder, "Did you not hear anything else I said?"

He smiled and gently recoiled from the smack, "Yes, I heard you. So what are you saying?"

"I am saying I don't want to hold myself back because of fear. I want to see whatever this is, I want to see what it becomes. Because I have a feeling like it'll be a beautiful thing and why miss out because one of us could die tomorrow? I want to live life to the fullest and I feel like that is with you."

During your speech you hadn't noticed yourself inching closer and closer to Levi's face. He had been mirroring your every move so when you had finished talking you both were just inches away from kissing.

He tore his eyes from your lips to meet your eyes. When your eyes met his, you noticed they were dilated. The irises took over and made them look black. It reminded you of the times he would be unstoppable in battle. Other soldiers called it 'God Mode', you'd take one look and see the darkest eyes you've ever seen. It would be terrifying. In this case, looking into his eyes were like that but instead of rage they were filled with desire.

You couldn't wait another moment, grabbed the back of his head, and unceremoniously smashed his lips onto yours. Responding, he grabbed your face to kiss you harder. You ran your fingers through his hair, feeling the difference between the short hair and the fade, then bit on to his bottom lip and pulled back. He didn't expect that little bit of roughness, sucked through his teeth in pain and pushed you down to get on top.

You both started to move fast. Without breaking away from each other's lips, you spread your legs to help him rest his hips onto yours. Electricity moved through you when he pushed himself onto you. In the heat of the moment you raised your hips to initiate dry humping. He followed suit, caging you with his arms. Your tongues fought, neither one backing down.

Out of nowhere, he backed off. His hand travelled down to hold your hips in place. Almost stuck in a trance, all he could do was look at them. You opened your eyes and realized he'd stopped completely, and you became embarrassed about how carried away you'd gotten, "I'm sorry, did I do too much?"

Levi kissed your face, "No, actually. I need to take a shower badly and it's taking every thing in me not to continue what we started." He rolled over to blow out the candle and asked, "Did you want to stay the night?"

You stutter, "In your room, tonight?"

Concerned he was being too forward, he asked, "Too soon?"

"No, just making sure I heard right," you said as you blushed. Your mind began to wander to the things he could be doing to you tonight. His hands all over your body. His mouth exploring you the way you've always imagined. Him, finally inside you, and you writhing in pleasure. You felt pressure in your lower abdomen and began to rub your thighs together.

Levi dug through a small pile of blankets and pulled out something wrapped. "Before we go down, I forgot to give you this. Congrats on a big day. Keep it up, I'm proud of you."

You unwrap it to find a broken piece of blade. You look up at Levi so he would elaborate.
"This is the blade you cut your first titan with," he said.
"That was last year though," you remembered.
"Yes, I saved it to give to you in the future when you did something amazing. This seemed like a pretty good time," he said, hoping you didn't hate it.

You were amazed that he was thinking about you a year ago. You wanted to tell him it was really sweet and that you could see that he was a romantic at heart but you didn't know how he'd react and decided to keep it to yourself for now.

"Thank you, I'll keep it to always remind myself to stay focused and driven," you say. He blushed.

"Thank you," he leaned in.

You kissed.

"Did you want to go my room now?"

You blushed.

"Yes."
