sakura walked into your team's shared room and let out a sigh.
"oh there you are! i got back like 5 minutes ago and couldn't find you anywhere!"
your eyes widened ever so slightly. if she got back five minutes ago then there was a chance she might've heard you and kakashi. you were pretty sure the two of you were quiet enough though so you decided to assume she heard nothing.
"oh haha, i was sitting on the back dock," you smiled at her.
"but i checked back there-"
"must've just missed me then!" you said urgently.
sakura raised a brow at your behavior. you already seemed flustered before she had entered the room but she decided not to pry.
"well, tsunami wanted me to tell everyone that dinner is ready!"
"oh okay, i'll be out there in a bit!"
sakura nodded with a smile and ran out. you followed soon after and walked casually into the dining room. everyone else was already seated around the table seemingly waiting on you.
you quickly apologized and took the only open seat left which was next to sasuke and across from kakashi. you looked up at your sensei but he seemed to be looking anywhere except you. you frowned at this and decided to turn your attention to sasuke. he seemed to be closer to you now than he was when you first sat down.
"so sasuke, did you make it up the tree?"
sasuke let out a hn and turned away which gave you your answer.
"don't worry, i'm sure you'll get it soon," you smiled and placed your hand on his shoulder. sasuke smirked and turned to face you.
"thanks (y/n)."
kakashi was now eyeing you, watching your every move as you talked to sasuke. not wanting to watch anymore, he cleared his throat, successfully gaining your attention.
"now that everyone is here, let's all eat," everyone nodded but you just continued to stare at kakashi, holding eye contact with him. looks like you managed to finally get his attention.
kakashi broke eye contact first and turned towards his food. he wasn't eating, probably waiting for everyone to finish so he could take off his mask. you smirked at the thought that you were the only one here who had seen his face.
