"With the help of the Kiriko Navigators, we arrived safely in Zaban City, the location of this years' hunter exam." Iris thought.
"Without a navigator, we should be lost and homeless by now." Iris thought to herself.
Soon enough, they arive infront of a tall building. "It's so tall! What a nice place." Said Gon.
"So that's the Exam site, huh?" Said Leorio. "And this is the crowd that it draws." He continued.
"Hunter applicants from all across the world congregate here." Said Kurapika.
Iris stayed silent, waiting for the Navigators final announcement."Hey, guys!" Called out the navigator. "Over here. This is it." He says as he points to a restaurant.
"Come on. You're kidding me, right? This looks like a regular restaurant. You're tellin me that Hunter applicants from all over the globe come to this old dive to take the exam?" Leorio asked.
"That's exactly right." Said the navigator. "Huh?" The three boys say.
"The hunter exam attracts millions of applicants every year. And no one would expect the exam to be held here, right?" Said the navigator.
"Good point," said Leorio. "Welcome! Take a seat!" Said the chef. "Is the back room available?" Said the navigator.
"What are you having?" The chef asked."The steak combo, please, the one that'll make us see the light. Make it four." Said the navigator.
"Combo for four, huh? How do you want 'em cooked?" Asked the chef.
The navigator answered. "Grilled slowly over a flame 'till done, please."
"Got it. See yourselves to the back room." The chief said.
They were sent to a room with a table in the middle. "Okay, wait here." The navigator says. "Why? Where are all the other applicants?" Asked Leorio.
"I can't wait for that steak combo!" Said Gon. Leorio chuckled. "Gon, that was just the password to get us inside. There's no steak combo." Said Kurapika.
"Okay. So, we don't get to eat?" Asked Gon. "Only one in ten thousand. You're very lucky. That's how many ever make it this far. Nice Job. You did great for first-timers." Said the navigator.
"Well, goodluck to you." He finally says, shaking gons hand after gon thanked him.
"I hope that, next year, I can help you again." He says, before closing the door.
Suddenly, the room shaked. "It seems this room is actually an elevator." Said Kurapika.
"That explains it. That bastard thinks he'll see us again next year because he expects us to fail!" Said Leorio as he sat down on a chair.
"He was merely taking in the possibilities of us passing the exam." Defended Iris.
"Once every three years." Said Kurapika. "What's that?" Asked Leorio. "It's how often a rookie passes the Exam." Said Kurapika.
"It's that unusual?" Asked Gon.
"It is." Said Kurapika. "Some can't handle it. It's too mentally and physically taxing. It's also not too uncommon for veterans to break the Rookies so badly that they never retake the test." Said Iris."So that's why people who want to be hunters are willing to risk everything for it." Said Gon.
"You've hit the nail right on the head, My little friend! Being a hunter means making more money than anyone in the world!" Leorio loudly said.
"Wrong! People become hunters to join the worlds most noble profession!" Kurapika disagreed. "Shut up, goody-goody!" Said Leorio.
"Selfish money, grubber!" Insulted Kurapika. They growled at each other, making Gon and Iris look at each other.
