"Luna...are you alright in there? You sure are taking forever." The young blonde spoke as she stood up from her vanity. Walking over to the bathroom door that was connected to her spacious bedroom. "Yeah... I'm fine. Just struggling with these damn heels." The girl named Luna responded from the bathroom. Her voice almost nothing more than a muffle. "Alright. Just making sure you didn't fall into the tub or something." The other girl responded with a small giggle. Going back to her vanity to finish her makeup. She was wearing a black skirt with a baby blue cropped tank top. Her long blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail.
Soon the bathroom door opened and Luna stepped out. "Is this really necessary Julie? I'd much rather wear jeans and a t-shirt." She sighed looking down at herself. Luna wasn't one to dress like this. The tight black dress showed way too much skin, more than she was willing to show. Especially around a bunch of horny teenage boys. But her best friend Julie had other plans. Trying to get her out of her comfort zone. "Yes it is, I want you to have fun tonight. And potentially get a boy to take you home." Julie responded, standing from her spot once more.
Walking over to Luna she fixed the choker she wore then her hair. "I don't want some random guy that I don't know, to take me home. My dad would kill me." Luna responded, crossing her arms slightly. "Fine, fine. Maybe not that much. But at least..try to talk to a guy. That's not Joey. Or Elliot." Julie said. "I talk to them because they don't always talk about how they want to fuck me." Luna responded. "It'll be fine Loonie. Also if you see Frank, try to-."
"Stay away from him. I know." Luna finished Julie's sentence, who seemed to smile slightly. "Exactly. Come down when you're ready though." She spoke as she walked to her bedroom door, stepping out into the hallway she shut the door behind her. Leaving Luna alone with her thoughts.
I don't want your man anyway Julie... I'm not that cruel. Not like you.
She thought sighing softly. Pulling her hair into a high ponytail. The sound of teenagers laughing and talking outside caught her attention. She stepped over to the window, looking down as she saw small groups of people she only vaguely recognized from school. Most of them were friends of Julie's, or random kids that liked to come to her parties. Luna didn't fit in with the type of crowd that Julie was trying desperately to mold her to. Luna was a tomboy, that preferred photography over cheerleading.
And she definitely had the vocabulary of a deliquent than a prep. She felt like an outcast in this crowd. The only three that really understood her were Joey, Susie and Elliot. Julie wouldn't let her around Frank, she's only ever saw glimpses of him or watched him at one of his basketball games. She wanted to know what he was like, why every girl fell for him and every guy wanted to be him. Why he got some much praise from the teachers.
Was he really all that?
Luna jumped slightly when she heard Julie's bedroom door open, whipping her head around to see Susie. She was wearing a bright blue dress with a hoodie that she must have stolen from Joey over it. Due to the huge size on her frame. Her dyed pink hair had already begun to fade, ripped fishnets and converse definitely didn't fit well with the dress. But Susie never really cared. She looked up and smiled before it changed to one of confusion. "Whoa...you weren't kidding." She spoke causing Luna to sigh. "I know. I feel like I'm going to get mauled if I got down there." She huffed as she sat down on the short plush stool Julie had in front of her vanity. Susie gave her a tight sympathetic smile as she walked over to Luna. Hugging her slightly.
"I brought you a bag of clothes. Just in case you want to change." She said. "No, I'll wear this for at least a half an hour...or until some guy tries something." She responded smiling weakly. "But thank you." She added. Susie nodded and smiled. "You're welcome." Susie pulled away when Luna began to stand once again. Susie took her hand and lead Luna out of Julie's room and headed downstairs. People had barely begun to show up but by the time it hit 10:30 the house was nearly filled with people. Luna didn't think that many people went to their school.
