When the rain cleared up and Luna's nerves finally settled she began walking back to their original cabins. Her mind couldn't stop thinking about what she had seen.
Was that really Frank...that was his jacket. He wouldn't let anyone wear that.
She thought as she walked. Soon she got back to the cabin she headed back up to Frank's room, worried thoughts filled her head. But she also hoped that, that wasn't really Frank she saw standing in the rain. When she got to his bedroom door she swallowed before reaching out and opening the door. Frank looked up, smiling when he saw Luna. He had just taken off his boots when she opened the door.
"Hey baby." he murmured as he pulled her in close, going to kiss her, when she stopped him. Her eyes darted to his neck and she frowned deeply.
"Is that blood?" she asked and he tensed up. "It is..but it's nothing. I just cut myself.." he trailed off when she reached up, wiping the blood away and revealing that there wasn't a scar there.
"Frank..I swear I saw you..killing someone earlier." she whispered, her eyes searching his and he was silent as he stared at her for a long moment.
Luna's heart raced and she swallowed when he didn't say anything immediately. His blue eyes were dark and he looked to be observing her. "Mi Rey? Tell me I saw wrong." she said and he shook his head slowly. "You're not stupid. It was me. Though, I didn't want you to find out about this. Not like this, not at all." he responded quietly as she pulled away from him, her mouth dry.
Frank could see how obviously scared she was and his heart sank as he sighed. "Luna. Don't walk out that door before you know what you're gonna say next. Because I can't let you leave if you plan on telling someone." he said plainly.
Luna didn't like that his voice was devoid of emotion, or the fact that he wasn't moving to touch her, just watching. Like he was waiting for her..to run.
Luna shook her head and closed her eyes briefly, then remembered she was standing with a serial killer and opened them again, biting her lip as she began to think. "How long have you been..like this?" she asked carefully and he shrugged. "Probably since my dad." he said, tilting his head when she reached out to him, placing a hand on his arm.
"Did you..kill him?" asked Luna and he nodded. "I did." said Frank, still not moving, just watching. It was fairly unnerving but Luna tried her best to keep a level head.
"Would you kill me right now?" she asked and Frank seemed to wince, shaking his head. "I can't..I can't do that. If you said you were going to the police, I might hurt you and try to keep you from leaving but I don't want to kill you. You're mine. And I care about you too much to do that immediately." he explained lowly, his eyes sincere.
Luna was silent at that, looking away from him briefly. She paced the room for a moment, then turned back to Frank.
She reached up, placing a shaky hand on his cheek and he stared at her through hooded eyes. "I need to think..okay? I won't tell but I need to go. And you need to clean up better." she said, attempting to pull away, but Frank finally pulled her back. His hand was around her wrist but he didn't hurt her. Just held her in place firmly. "Luna." he warned and she shook her head.
"I promise. I won't tell. Just let me go for now." she said and his heart flinched at her words. Frank slowly let go of her wrist and she stared at him for a moment, then finally turned to open his door.
She could feel his eyes on her and she almost felt bad. But right then she was scared and being there with him like that, while he was on guard..while he was looking at her like another victim, was just making her worse.
She didn't know what to think right then.
"Sleep well, little moon." he murmured and she really wished she didn't feel so comforted by that because she knew it was very wrong to still have such strong feelings for him. "I will try..and you get some sleep too Frank." said Luna and Frank's fists clenched at his sides. He didn't like her dismissive tone. He didn't like how scared she sounded and he especially didn't like being the reason she was so afraid.
