Summer finally came,
A summer breeze
For the first time in years,
And something happened
A phenomena I never thought possible
Basking in the sunlight
Feeling the life shine
Into my skin,
I smiled for the first time in weeks,
Smiled at the mere prospect of living
When not so long ago I wished for the opposite,
Smiled at the fact
That I survived another year,
Smiled because saying no to me
Was your loss
Not my failure.
Smiled because I could feel the past year
Melting off my skin
As prospects of new horizons
Formed a new one.
Winter may not be over,
Not quite yet,
But maybe summer's finally beginning
And the evidence is on my face.***NOTE: Not sure if I actually like this one, I might delete it later.
