Chapter 17 : Convocation

Finally the convocation day has arrived . Everyone were in their black aprons and were really exited to know who were the silver ring winners of the whole course . Marcus and Philip were in their aprons and joined the group too . An hour later the convocation program started . The professors , the principal and the remaining vips of the college also arrived there and took their seats . In the mean time Philip observed a surprise thing in Marcus's pocket , a mechanical pencil is in his pocket . This is the same mechanical pencil which Marcus uses to give any information notes to Philip, he even uses pen sometimes but mostly a pencil . He even found a slip of paper in his pocket that's clearly visible to him . He didn't understand now whome Marcus is going to give this slip to .

                                Meanwhile the head of all the departments and principal of college stood up and principal started his speech .

ALL THE STUDENTS OF RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENTS WE ARE GLAD TO CONDUCT THIS CONVOCATION AND ARE VERY HAPPY TO KNOW THAT OUR STUDENTS SUCCEDED IN THEIR 4 YEAR COURSE OF ENGINEERING . WE UNDERSTAND THE HARDWORK AND COMMITMENT THEY SHOWED IN THEIR DUTIES AND THE PASSION THEY HAVE IN ATTAINING KNOWLEGE IS FAR MORE APPRICIATABLE  .TODAY WE EXPECT EVERY STUDENT WHO WORKED HARD GET HIS REWARD OF HIS /HER HARDWORK . ALL THE BEST TO THE FUTURE OF OUR STUDENTS .
      
                                      After this the head of the departments started giving speech one after another . Later  followed by this the convocation of students began . The head of the departments started announcing names of students who won silver rings . Now it's the electronics department to announce.  The head of department came forward . He announced :
       The winners of silver ring from electronics department are :
1. Daisy Mariqus
2 . Marcus Smith
3 . Philip widewender

GIVE THEM A BIG APPLAUSE ...

The names of these students were followed by big applause of students around them . All three were very happy that their names were announced . Marcus and Philip came to aside . Philip out of curiosity asked Marcus that question he was very curious to ask since an hour . Marcus I am not able to understand one thing the other day you told me that every coin has two sides but I cannot see the other side of you in all these 4 years the Marcus whome i saw is a boy who reads all the time and always busy in work . Well this is the one side of yours but what's the other side I am very curious to know about it . Marcus smiled a bit and replied " yes it's time to reveal that too , look at the boys who are sitting there idle without taking any awards or nothing from university those are the boys who wasted all the time they had in enjoying the so called period of life they had and never concentrated on studies . In my point of view exams are not only there to check the knowledge of a student but its responsibility of student to give tough competition to other students and that's what I have done . When I entered into this college I understood that there are 4 kinds of students in this college.

1 . Students who just join college not to gain knowledge but for only enjoying the college life .

2 . The students  who just come to study but start maintaing lovers and completely forget about for  what  actually they came for .

3 . The students who waste time  eventhough they are really in need of it by going through some addictions .

4 . The students like me who invest time like money and work hard and smart  for their success .

And when the competition between these 4 categories of people begins only the 4 th category of people easily survive . I know that you and I also had girlfriends but we never wasted time on them . We gave them that amount of time which they deserve . It's less but profitable . Time is the ultimate power my friend . When I got to know this I was very much relaxed as many of our competitors in our department belong to the first 3 categories and only we are the 4th category . This made us more easy to win .
Philip replied , man you are a genius after all I have no words to appreciate you . Now these  silver rings always stays with us for lifetime which always reminds us about our capacity to think and achieve .
