Happy summer guys! Oh my gosh, it's been such a long time since I've been on Wattpad! I've been so incredibly busy and stressed with school, but it's finally summer so I have so much more free time to write and edit (LOL let's see if I actually keep my word this time XD). I'm incredibly sorry that you guys have had to wait so long! But enough of my rambling since, let's be honest, that's not what you guys are really here for. So without further adieu, here's the next chapter!

Chapter 4

Since I didn't have a car, we agreed that Emily would drive me to the carnival. The closer I got to the carnival, the more excited I became.

Whenever I went out in Dellmere, I'd have guards with me and I wouldn't be able to do anything without consent from my father or mother. In other words, I didn't do anything, especially if it wasn't "proper ladylike behavior."

Emily parked the car on the far side of the parking lot. "Let's go!" She said as we unbuckled our seat belts.

I followed her into the carnival, letting all the lights hit me all at once. It was quite the sight: kids screaming and chasing each other, empty food packages all over the grass, and the lights of the rides in the back illuminating the whole park. In the back of the park was a huge Ferris Wheel. You could see tiny figures in the seats at the top of it, laughing and pointing at the things they saw from above.

The sounds at the carnival made me even more excited. All you could hear everywhere you walked was sounds of pure joy and laughter. It was as if people forgot about any responsibility they had and were enjoying the moment they were in. On the right of the park, there was a enormous stage, where a band was playing music and people screaming the lyrics along with the lead singer.

The next thing that hit me was the smells. The smell of the food made my mouth water. I identified popcorn, corn dogs, hot dogs, caramel apples, churros. and all sorts of fried foods as we made our way through the crowd of people to get a stack of tickets.

I couldn't wait to try all of these foods. I rarely got to try food like this at home. We always had five-star meals prepared for us. No unhealthy food was allowed in the castle. It was a nice change for the teenager part of me.

We waited in line to get our tickets. There were so many different things to try, it was almost overwhelming. Almost overwhelming enough to make me forget there is supposed to someone here who would be watching my every move.

Like I said, almost.

I took a quick look around, but didn't see anyone.

"So what do you want to do first?" Emily asked me.

I shrugged. "What seems like the most fun?"

"I'm kinda hungry. You want to grab a corn dog before we do anything?" She started walking over to the corn dog booth.

We bought the corn dogs, and started to chat away on the random topics, from school to our celebrity crushes: the Amell cousins for me, Justin Timberlake and Adam Levine for her.

We ended up walking around more, subconsciously buying more food as we played at different games at the hundreds of booths. Emily got a bear after winning the ring toss; I had yet to win a single game.

"Let's go to the swing ride!" She yelled over the crowd.

"What?" I yelled back, my untrained ears not being able to hear over the noises.

She pointed over to something in the distance. "That."

I followed her finger to a big ride with seats that joined at a tilted rotating top spinning around a circle. It actually looked like a lot of fun.
