Ch.5 Jake

So as I climbed out my window to get to the ground, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror that was in the corner of the room right by the window to only see a little girl with scraggly black hair, tiny legs, and decent makeup. As I walked to school I tried to think happy. I thought to myself "Hey! At least your makeup looks presentable!" Then I realized I still liked him and even tho he didn't like me why can't I have my own fantasy. And now I have Lanie! In the apocalyptic war I met Lanie in math class, and she showed me her old scars and told me it gets better, and now it seems I can maybe trust again.

As I walked up to the school building I saw the big school sign "SHIAWA HIGH SCHOOL" in big bold letters and right below it in tinier letters "Great Students with Great Futures". I just stood there looking at the sign thinking to my self "how great will my future be?" Then looking back at eye level I saw him looking right at me threw the glass doors. I can't believe I just was standing there while everyone looked at me. As I glance at him making quick eye contact I just keep looking forward not even caring that he looked At me. As he opened the door for me I just said thanks, and he just replied with a nod of the head. As I kept walking I realized Lanie was a few feet away silently jumping and screaming at the sight of me interacting with him. I just rolled my eyes and said " calm your tatas!" She just laughed and giggled while saying " you guys would be so cute! I just know it!" Then as he walked by she started winking at me. I wanted to back hand slap her but I just stuck my tongue out at her.

Then Lace walked up behind Lanie and wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her. It was adorable, I just said "I can't believe you guys have already been dating for 6 months!". He just said confidently "Yea, she just can't keep her hands off me!" Winking at Lanie, Lanie just glared hit him slightly and said " Yea right you wish!" While she blew him a kiss . In response Lance started to tickle Lanie, as Lanie started to run away while he chased her all around the halls. Then Miss.Changer a women in her late-fifties who where's long skirts with short hair. She loves her lipstick even tho it's usually more on Her teeth than her lips, as she came around the corner of the hall to only find two kids running in the halls ,with a booming voice she spat " get over here, now!" As Lance and Lanie jogged over to her, with a unamused look on her face she said rudely "My room now!"

As the three of them walked around the corner Lanie looked back at me with a scarred look I just smiled and waved, after her seeing my response to her cry for help she just glared and kept walking, as she rounded the corner I bursted out laughing. Miss.Changer must have heard me because she came back pointed at me to come by her. I just stood there for a second with a petrified look. Then with a hurried pace I walked over towards her, she said quickly yet promptly " If you think it's so funny you can join them." Escorting me to Lance and Lanie while they just nod there heads and give me a thumbs up. I glare and giggled. The three of us behind Miss.changer waking down the hallway to Miss.Changers room we all waved like royalty as kids past us by. As the kids around us try not to laugh while giving thumbs up.

As we turned right into her class room she spun around doing a 180 。 she said quickly "this kind of behavior is not okay in a school environment." Lance was the first to talk "I'm sorry for our bad behavior." Then Lanie cleared her throat "yea." She said nervously. I just stood there for a second thinking of something to say and then it just came out " I'm sorry for laughing at such an inappropriate situation..." She seemed trilled with our replays and gayly said back "thank you! I just don't want people to get hurt...I trust your honesty...it shows great character". Then with a smile Miss.Changer said "Have a wonder day!" As we all said have a nice day back right as we got out of the class room

Lanie started to cry with laughter quiet enough so Miss.Changer couldn't hear. Then once again "he" walked by, my heart dropped and then I realized, if he doesn't like me...so what! An as I learn over into Lanie's ear I tell her a plan... A plan to tell Jake I like him that I think of him before I go to sleep to forget the pain, the one I think of to warm my heart.....probably just the first part I'll tell him thou.. And Lanie almost peed a little she squealed so hard then she said "REALLY! You'll do IT! That's AWESOME!" Lance looking confused replayed "wait? What's happening???" Then Lanie jumped grabbed both his hands and leaned into Lance's ear. Then while Lanie said all this Lance's eyes widened with glee. Then he quietly said "YOU! You like JAKE!" Then I replied even quieter "SHHHHH" lance just smiled again and replied " so...your gonna tell him that?" As I said back confidently "Why not? Right I mean if he doesn't like me okay that's cool and if he does like me okay cool! I'm just sick of hiding this secret in. I've already lost my old friends what else can God take form me?" With Lanie replying back "well...he could take your love freedom and house?" Then with even more sarcasm I replied back " Oops to late.. Check check and check!" We all laughed then Lanie said sincerely "Why don't you come and live with me for a while? Okay?" I was so honored to finally have a friend who is really there for me and I replied "please." Then quickly I knocked out of it and walked up to Jake and said gingerly " I think your hot...and I don't care who knows anymore." Then walking away quickly Lanie congratulated me with a hand shake and Lance hugged me. I felt loved for once. Then it went away when someone poked my shoulder. Lanie's face dropped. I didn't wanna look....so I didn't and just tried to stay in the moment of happiness. But no matter how hard I try I can never go back to that moment. And again i felt a tap. Lance gesturing to turn around and look. I couldn't bring myself to do it. Then awkwardly I turned around and jake was right there...really close, as I took a step back he started to talk to me "hey, um I don't know how to say this....." Me being the nervous awkward person I am walked away, I walked right past him before he could finish his sentence.
