Chapter two

THE SPIDER SOCIETY

MIGUEL O'HARA never expect to be sitting at a dining table, with fresh and delicious food on the table in front of him, that was prepared by Mattheo and ISABELLA who's the mother of Gabriella.

Let's just say, Isabella had a fright when a stranger was playing with Gabriella with their TV on, watching a live football game. She literally holds a baseball bat when she spotted Miguel, whose eyes literally went saucers, quickly moved away when Isabella starts to swing the bat towards him, carefully not harming Gabriella who watches the scene unfold.

"¡¿QUIÉN TE DEJÓ ENTRAR?! DID YOU BREAK INTO OUR HOUSE?!" before she even gets to hit Miguel, a web attached itself to the tip of the bat, stealing the bat from her grasp she growls, facing Mattheo who gave her a deadpan "Por el amor de Dios, can you shut it?" Mattheo puts the bat away from Gabriella's view who giggled.

"DE PUTA, MATTHEO!" She screams, Miguel winced and glances at Gabriella who also glances at him.

"Mami.." Isabella immediately looks at Gabriella who smiled "Señor Miguel is Tìo Mattheo's friend! Tio is currently making supper so I invited Señor to play with me! Tio even puts on the TV!" Gabriella explains, looking at Miguel once again. Isabella still breathes heavily before calming herself "I..."

Miguel scratches his nape awkwardly "I apologize for giving you a scare. I believe it's time for me to leave.." he gave Mattheo a nod before he moves from his place, the fabric of his pants was pulled by Gabriella who's currently frowning "You're leaving?" Miguel gave her a small smile.

"Why don't you stay for dinner?" All of them looked at Isabella who was bashfully looking away "I— I think I overreacted-"

"Don't add think in your sentence because You did overreact." Mattheo comments on her midsentence which she breathes heavily and gave him a smile that could have Mattheo buried 6 ft underground.

"Ignore Mattheo, please." Isabella pleads with Miguel.

"You should join. Jess is on the lookout here." Miguel heard Lyla says.

"And I promise you. It won't disrupt any canon." Lyla added, the man stares at Isabella who gave a small smile then at Gabriella who had a hopeful look. "Sure, if it's not a hassle..." Gabriella jumps in happiness with Isabella sighing, and smiling before hitting Mattheo on the head which he quickly hissed in pain "Ay! That hurts."

"It was supposed to be, pendejo."

During dinner, Miguel observed the family in front of him. It was not all silent but a lot of bickering. Isabella would often spit out Spanish inappropriate words due to annoyance and anger toward her little brother who just nods his head and smiled sarcastically, Gabriella on the other hand, loves empanada. Carefully breaking the empanada into two, she gave half of the empanada to Miguel who got surprised.

Smiling, he whispered a thank you to the child before bringing the food into his mouth.

For the first time in a while, he suddenly felt at home.

     Mattheo watches Isabella tuck Gabriella onto their shared bed, smiling softly as she gave a small kiss on the child's forehead, muttering a good night. Walking quietly, she shuts the door closed before looking at Mattheo.
