Dylan O'Brian
Age:17"Can you let me explain before you get mad?" Ameriah frowned her face when she met Dylan at the front doors of the school. The final bell had rung only moments ago so everyone who didn't have extracurricular activities was rushing home.
"I'm not mad & You don't have to explain anything, he's your business" Dylan spoke while opening the passenger door of his car for her. "Not mine."
She eyed him slightly before huffing and getting inside. Dylan gently shut the door and got in on his side. He started the car and started making the silent drive to her place. When he saw Ameriah and Tre talking earlier he certainly felt a way. Truthfully in that moment he wanted to say a lot of things to her but Ameriah was sensitive so he had to be careful with his words. He decided saying nothing at all at the time was probably best.
Dylan was in so much thought about the situation that he hadn't realized that they had made it to her house already. He snapped out of it and looked over at Ameriah who had tears falling freely from her face.
He immediately parked the car and shut the engine off "Xen..why are you crying?"
"I think I still h-have feelings for him and I don't want you to be disappointed in me" She breathed in while wiping under her eyes "I don't know what made him come talk to me today but I never got over him."
Dylan stared into her red eyes conflicted on what to say, "I'm not disappointed—" He started before she interjected.
"Yes you are. I've known you since we were 7 and 8 I can tell."
"You know what you're right. I am disappointed but not in you. It makes sense for you to have feelings for the person who took your virginity right? Him on the other hand? He's playing in your face Ameriah."
"But I want to believe him."
"What you want, is not always what you should have" He placed his hand on her shoulder "Whatever he filled your head up with today is bullshit. No one that cares about you would do what he did. But listen at the end of the day you're in control of yourself.. I just know that I don't want to see you hurt like that again..but I'll be here for you regardless alright?"
She nodded
"And I'm sorry for brushing you off at the library." He added.
"It's fine." She reached over the console to hug him and he rubbed her back gently "Do you wanna come in? I'm sure my mom cooked dinner already." Ameriah offered before pulling away.
"I have football practice, tomorrow?"
"Yeah I'll let her know." She picked up her backpack and hopped out of the car.
Dylan made sure she got in safely and went straight back to school. As he parked in his spot he noticed that the cheer team was in the front of the school having their practice on the lawn.
