5 YEARS LATER
Dylan O'Brien
Age: 22
Dylan walked the halls of campus in search of his first course of the day for his Criminal justice major. Even though it was his last year at the University of Houston; he still had trouble finding his lectures as if he was a freshman. It was like they were always in places he never visited before. He sighed while adjusting his backpack strap and continued his search. It was only 8 in the morning so he was very tired still. Anyway, he was graduating this year so he was determined to finish off strong so he could get into Law school. If that meant waking up at the crack of dawn every morning and sitting in boring lectures he was going to do it.
"Dylan is that you?"
Dylan removed his airpod and turned his head in the direction of the feminine voice and was met with Indiyah Aire Scott.
"Oh shit Indiyah, hey! How was your summer?" He pulled her into a hug "I missed you.""Did you really?" She snickered while looking up at him "Didn't seem like it..My phone was pretty dry these last few months."
"No I did" He assured her with a soft kiss to her lips "This summer was crazy busy for me with work and internships. I should've made more of an effort to keep in contact with you though, that's my bad."
Ever since Dylan and Renee broke up years ago; Dylan was still trying to figure himself out relationship wise. When he finally started dating Renee it was just a toxic cycle of arguing, sex, breaking up, then getting back together. It was draining, not to mention when he was with her he always seemed to relapse on Xanax. Now that he had been broken up with her for five years he became more matured and realized that their relationship was just a huge learning lesson that he needed. He was also five years sober so that was an important milestone to him.
