Chapter 15: IT'S A DEAL!
(This is a bit of a shorter chapter, mostly because I feel like what happens next deserves its own chapter.)
3rd POV:
'Just try spending time with her?' Fuegoleon thought about what Adallai had told him. He was grateful for her but it seems too simple of a solution. Was that really all he needed to do?
'She's a really sweet girl, just try getting to know her.' Adallai's voice echoed in his head.
Think back on it he only ever interacted with Natsu when it was absolutely necessary, which wasn't often. He, at first, thought he should give her some space to reconnect with her mother, thinking it would get her to stop acting out, but that excuse swiftly turned into them having, very, limited interactions.
Maybe by getting to know her, as he should, he can help calm her outburst. He could only hope she would get past this as soon as possible and as her father, it isn't right for him to stand idly by. His best guess was that Natsu was the destructive type, that or she was going threw a phase of some sort.
Either way, he's learning that he was being a bit on the harsh side, He can't keep comparing her to Leopold. Leo was born and raised in the capital, and Fuegoleon never had such destructive problems with him. But Natsu was most likely raised differently, raised in a place where she got away with this behavior. So his thoughts were to show her how to act, sure she can't go without punishment, but he needs to show her other way's to express that frustration. Therefore he has decided, the best way to do that and make a connection is through the things he knew best. Magic and Training.
It's a perfect idea, he would be able to monitor her more closely and create the bond he is starting to become desperate for.
The first step to this plan would be to find Sir. Darius and get a layout of her abilities. Fugeoleon planned to take over her training completely so Darius wouldn't be stretched so thin. It's obvious that the schedule is taking its toll and no shame to the instructor, but he's no good at training in the realm of magic. Though, the man can't be blamed, before he was even hired he expressed that he wasn't versed in the ways of teaching the subject. But, his other aspects are what made him perfect for the academic side of things, and he turned out to be a better fit after learning about Natsu's knowledge or lack thereof.
Fuegoleon swiftly knocked on a door, he knew Darius was in there due to the mana he sensed on the other side of the door. However, he didn't get an answer, so he knocked again. Once more there wasn't an answer, he knew it was impolite to go in without being told but his excitement got the best of him.
Opening the door slightly, barely enough to peak his head threw, he called out, "Sir. Darius?... Are you well?" he could see the older male hunched over his deck, furiously scribbling on a piece of parchment.
Swiftly walking over he calmly placed a hand on the man's shoulder causing him to jump with a start. Darius held his chest as he wiped his head up to his employer before taking a sign of relief.
"Oh? Lord Vermillion, sorry I wasn't expecting you to be right behind me." Darius stood up, straightening his collar and any other wrinkles that formed. "I can see that. Are you well? I knocked multiple times and you didn't say anything, perhaps your age is getting to you."
Confused the older male scratched his head as he chuckled, "I'm not that old. I apologize, it's about time to start the young misses training and I want to finish grading these papers before that.
"I was skeptical when you told me she wouldn't be studying today, but I think it was a wise choice. I definitely needed the time to catch up and I don't think she's feeling up to date. Speaking of which what did the doctor say today, I've become concerned."
