Chapter 18: It Unravels PT 2

3rd POV:

Setting foot through the portal Fuegoleon thanked the spacial mage, paying him before watching the portal close. With a deep breath, he pulled the hood of his knight's robe further over his head in hopes of not drawing attention to himself. Starting on his way, the village was known as Flint, it was only 50 or so miles away from the ruins that were better known as the place his daughter grew up in. He had a very specific destination.

Coming across a small house with a dark green door, Fuegoleon Knocked and then reached into his cloak to make sure he had what he needed. The door opened and a familiar elderly woman that only came to his chest, "Oh your here! I Hope your trip was safe. Come in. Come in. Don't be shy." She beckoned him in. Smiling at the elderly woman, he quickly thanked her and pulled his hood down. "Hello Simone, Hope I'm not a bother."

The woman just waved him off.

"Oh Sig will be so happy to see you, He's been waiting for news on Sue." She Said as she rushed into the kitchen, she put the kettle on the stovetop before lighting it with a match.

"Sue?" He questioned.

"Oh? That's just the nickname she was called."

Watching the woman run around he couldn't help but notice how small the rest of the house was compared to his own. It was more cramped but not in a bad way, it had something his own home seemed to lack up until recently. It was cozy.

"Go on, sit, sit. I'm young enough to make tea on my own...unless you would prefer coffee?" she hesitantly questioned as she reached into a top shelf not sure whether to grab the coffee mix or tea.

"Tea is fine," Fuegoleon reassured as he entered the living room. He hesitated before sitting. He never felt so out of place before. Was this how Natsu felt when she first came to the capital? It wasn't a good feeling, in fact, it was as if everything he could do would be wrong. Did the older woman have a favorite spot? Or maybe by saying "Go on, sit." She meant to wait for her and not do anything. Biting the bullet he chose to sit on the wooden chair in the corner, probably the most uncomfortable seat in the room. It was also right in front of the lazy boy chair, which was the comfiest looking, no doubt for the other woman in the house.

Taking one more look around he saw the reason for the homey feeling. The walls were decorated with pictures some old and some newer but all screamed "happy". The oldest-looking one was mostly faded; it was of a man and woman, both in wedding attire that was outdated today but was no doubt the height of commoner fashion during the time of the photo. Next to it was another photo of two teen girls. Getting back up he walked closer to get a better look. one of them looked like Marzia from years ago. the girls were holding books, no doubt their grimoires that they recently received.

"That's my daughter, Katey, and her old Friend." A voice interrupted his thoughts. Jumping back he looked and there was the woman he had long forgotten about carrying a tray with the tea and cups.

"I Apologize, Mam." He never felt so on edge at that moment. The woman set down a tray. "No need...You may know her friend, Marzia. Sue's mother." with more questions; he sat down across the coffee table from here, silently begging her to continue, which she did as she sat down.

"Those two were the best of friends back then but they broke off any and all contact after Marzia's Fiance, Dean, left her for Katey." She started, " My son-in-law was a good man, Sadly he was the reason those two stopped being friends."

'How was he a good man if he left the one he promised himself to?' He thought, Fuegoelon couldn't help but feel bad for Marzia at that moment, She was engaged and the man she thought loved her just up and left. As if reading his mind Simone replied
