Third Person Pov

Luka Couffaine had always been a laid-back and easygoing guy. He loved his wife, (Y/N), and their twin daughters more than anything in the world.

However, there was one member of the family who seemed to have a different opinion of him-Hunter, their lovable yet stubborn dog.

However, he was in a slight predicament. It's not as if Hunter merely despises Luka with a burning passion- He just doesn't acknowledge him as much as he would (Y/N).

It was a sunny Friday morning, and Luka found himself alone in the house. The twins were off to school, and (Y/N) had planned a girls' day out with Marinette and their friends.

Luka couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy when he realized that Hunter seemed to prefer (Y/N)'s company over his own.

Luka sat on the couch, observing as Hunter lounged on (Y/N)'s favorite armchair, looking up at him with an almost judgmental gaze.

"Hey, Bud. Is something wrong?" Luka asked him.

Hunter did not reply, obviously. Luka would've deemed himself delulu if that were the case.

But, unbeknownst to Luka- Hunter gave him a slight snort.

It was as if Hunter knew that Luka was plotting something, and he was ready to challenge him at every turn.

"I feel like you have serious beef with me, Hunter. But you know what?" Luka eyes the timid looking dog with determination flashing in his eyes, "I accept the challenge."

Determined to win Hunter's affection, Luka decided to employ a series of comedic strategies. After all, what could go wrong?

Strategy #1: The Treat Trail

Luka figured that the quickest way to win Hunter's heart was through his stomach. He started by placing a trail of delicious dog treats leading from Hunter's favorite spot to himself.

"Do you want the treats, boy?" Luka hollered at Hunter, who looked as if he was just napping a few minutes ago. "Look at them- They look yummy don't you think."

His offers sounded exquisite. Hunter never declined food when (Y/N) gives it to him- So Luka wondered if it would be the same for him.

But unfortunately for him, Hunter wasn't at all interested.

Hunter sniffed the treats but refused to budge from his comfortable spot. It seemed that food alone couldn't win him over.

Strategy #2: The Impersonation Game

If treats weren't enough, Luka thought, maybe impersonating (Y/N) would do the trick.

He remembered that Hunter always responded eagerly whenever (Y/N) called him, so he decided to give it a shot.

Clearing his throat, Luka attempted his best imitation of (Y/N)'s voice, calling out, "Hunter, come here, boy! Come to Mommy!"

Luka sounded nothing like his wife. Even with his voice pitched and high, Hunter did not seem too convinced.

Much to his dismay, Hunter simply cocked his head to the side and let out a small, confused whimper.

It seemed Luka's imitation wasn't quite up to par.

Strategy #3: The Singing Serenade

Luka was running out of ideas but refused to give up.

He had heard that dogs loved music, so he decided to serenade Hunter with his guitar-playing skills.

Sitting next to Hunter, he strummed a cheerful tune and sang his heart out, hoping to captivate the dog's attention.

Luka sounded a little off tune. Granted, he was merely strumming a tune and making his lyrics randomly.

"Ohhh, Hunter~ Please love me. You're supposed to be my best friendd~ Why do you love my wife moreee? This is so unfairrr~"

Hunter's response was not what Luka expected. The moment he started singing, Hunter howled along in an ear-piercing harmony that could shatter glass.

It was a chorus of doggy disapproval, leaving Luka wondering if he should stick to playing his guitar in front of humans.

Strategy #4: The Extreme Pampering

Desperate times called for desperate measures. Luka decided to go all out and pamper Hunter to the extreme.

He fetched a plush dog bed, the finest treats money could buy, and even attempted to give Hunter a bubble bath fit for a king.

"Okay, Hunter." Luka huffed, "I got you all the goods. I'm pretty sure I'm pampering you more than (Y/N)- So, can we be best buddies now?"

Luka looked at Hunter straight in his adorable doe black eyes, the dogs head filled with bubbles and fur wet with soapy water.

Unfortunately, Hunter seemed less than thrilled with all the attention and proceeded to shake off the soapy water all over Luka, drenching Luka from head to toe.

As Luka stood there, dripping wet and defeated, Hunter trotted off, leaving him feeling like the punchline of a joke.

"Drats."

Strategy #5: The Surrender

Exhausted and covered in suds, Luka finally realized that winning over Hunter's affections wasn't something that could be achieved through grand gestures or elaborate plans.

Instead, it required time, patience, and genuine care.

With a sigh, Luka plopped down next to Hunter, embracing the dog's unique personality.

He scratched Hunter behind the ears, showering him with affection and accepting that sometimes dogs, like people, have their own preferences.

"Welp, bud." Luka started, "I can't beat my wife- You obviously love her more than me. But I'm not one to give up! Let's take baby steps from now on, yeah?"

As if sensing Luka's change of heart, Hunter nuzzled closer, his tail wagging with newfound joy.

It was in that moment that Luka realized he didn't have to compete with (Y/N) for Hunter's affection.

The love between them would grow naturally over time, just like it did with his family.

And so, Luka spent the rest of the day curled up on the couch with Hunter by his side, enjoying the simple pleasure of each other's company.

It didn't matter who Hunter liked more because in the end, they were all part of one big, loving family.

"Hey babe? I'm home! Have you picked up the kids yet-?"

Little did Luka know that (Y/N) would return home to find them snuggled up together, and she couldn't help but laugh at the sight of her husband and their dog, finally bonding in their own unique way.

Hunter had found a place in Luka's heart, just as Luka had found his in Hunter's.

And from that day forward, they were inseparable, comedic duo, always ready to bring laughter and joy to their household, one silly adventure at a time.
