"And if one day I don't recognize you, I'll love you anyway"

I lean back, resting my body on my hands. I let out a sigh as my music blasts in my ears. I close my eyes to ignore my surroundings. I was tired, it was late and I had been here for hours.

"Hey sis!" A red head runs up to me. My irritating, twin brother, Nick. I drove him everywhere since he got his license revoked... again. And we always ended up at the rink for his daily hockey practices. I didn't mind driving him but I did mind how my mom made me stay to keep an eye on him. He would constantly come home from practice with bruises and black eyes. He was overly aggressive when it came to hockey.

"Hey Nicky" I smile. "You ready yet?" I tried being polite, he had a hard day after his girlfriend broke up with him. But that didn't mean my day was any easier.

"Um about that, I was wondering if we could head home separately?" He says awkwardly. I stand up quickly, "so that means I can finally leave!"

"About that-" Nick holds my arm to keep me in place. I sigh. I already knew what he wanted. Our mom wasn't home tonight, she was on a date with her new boyfriend. Which meant the house was going to be empty today and tomorrow. Not to mention it was a Friday.

"You want me to stay here so you can go ahead with your friends to hang out at the house by yourselves?" Nick hugs me really tightly, squeezing all the air out of me. "Oh I love you so much Len! You're the best sister ever!"

I smile as he runs off to his friends. I watch him as he tells them the news. He jumps up and down like a little dog, his fluffy red hair bouncing up and down.

I don't get how I ever became Nicks sister. I mean we kind of looked alike. I had red hair as well but mine was much darker and you couldn't even tell it was red unless I was in the sun. We both had a tiny nose, soft freckles, and full lips. A few few things that were different though was that I had sharp eyes while he had wide bright eyes, I had soft, unnoticeable waves while his hair was very springy. Don't even get me started on how differently we acted.

I walk up to Nick and his teammates. All of them greeted me with a smile. I had grown fond of them after spending so much time around them. "Ok imma get going Nick, I'll hang out at library and pick up the groceries on the way home. Text me if you need anything." I kiss his cheek before turning to leave. "Don't get into any trouble!" I yell behind me.

I let out a long yawn. I check the time on my watch to see it's half past 12. I had been out for a few hours and I lost track of time wandering around. I head to the 24/7 grocery store. It was dead silent, only the sound of the buzzing LED lights broke it.

I head to the back of the store to get bread. I bump into someone. "Oof. My nose" I think to myself. I rub the bridge of my nose. "Lena? Lena Einar?" I look up and see a tall guy, around my age, in front of me. "Do I know you?"

He looked rather handsome. His blue eyes looked like glass from the ocean. His blonde hair looked like dunes in a desert, his waves shaping his face. He had a stupid coy twist to his full lips. He was dressed in long black slacks, perfectly cleaned white shoes, and a white collared shirt to pair it. His tie was loosened and a beige blazer slung over his shoulder. I see a little emblem on the jacket. "Oh shit."

"You go to Kings Court? Don't you?" I rub my head. That school was a well known academy all over the state. It was famous for its accelerated classes and top notch sports teams. It produced well mannered, and successful students. I would've gone there if it wasn't for- Well I'll save that story for another day.

He chuckles and nods. "That obvious?" I shake my head as I point to the jacket. "Ah, makes sense" he responds with a smile. I didn't even get why he was still in uniform but I didn't have the effort to start a detailed conversation.

"I'm sorry but you still haven't answered my question. Do I know you?" I cross my arms to ice him out. "More like if I know you?" He smiles. I roll my eyes on response and shrug. "Oh come on, you're so popular at our school. You have some of the highest scores in the tri-state area and you placed 1st in nationals for many academic and physical competitions." He spoke with awe in his voice.

"Oh come on I'm so over all of that, just introduce yourself" I hold my hand out to get him to shut up. "Right pardon my rudeness. I'm Oliver Silas." As he spoke his name a smirk snuck onto his face. He knew he was well known and he didn't try and hide it. He was my "academic opponent" one might say.

I scoff, "well nice to meet you Oliver. But I got to go. See you some other time" I leave him alone in the aisle. "Bye sweetheart!" He calls after me. I flip him off rudely as I turn the corner. I did not need this on today of all days.
