"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever"
——————After getting home from a long day I snuck upstairs to take a shower. The first thing I heard when I walked in was the boys goofing off in the living room. When I walked upstairs their voices echoed in the halls. "HIII LENAAA!" They all yell after me. I dismiss them with a wave as I make my way to the bathroom.
As I showered the hot water warmed my cold skin. I look up to the ceiling, the water running down my back. The thought of Oliver kept ringing through my brain. I shake my head and shut off the water.
After I dried off and got changed, I step into my room. "Oscar, my baby!" I yell to my dog, he was a Frenchie with bright blue eyes. He hops into my arms, yapping not stop. "Missed mama?" I kiss his little wet nose as I walk him downstairs.
I sit down at our dining table as I watch the boys wrestle in the living room. They cheered each other on, wincing at each hit.
One of the boys walks up to me and sits next to me. "Hiya Oscar" he pets his head softly, causing Oscar to yawn. He looks up from my dog to me, "hey Lena." He smiles, as his voice hung between the two of us. "Hey Dorian" I smile back.
Dorian Crusoe. He was my brothers best friend. They had been friends since kindergarten, when I got sick Nick went to school alone and Dorian was kind enough to befriend him. Dorian was very popular amongst my female classmates. Trust me when I say this man was fine as hell.
16 years has passed and he sat in front of me, not changed in a single bit. The same dark black hair that was always brushed back so neatly. The same untamable strands that always found it's way to fall in front of his emerald eyes. The same adorable smile with those cute dimples on his pale skin.
"Hey Dorian?" I ask, my attention on my brother. "What's up?" He responds kindly. "Do you know Oliver Silas?" His response sounded like a question, "yeah? He plays hockey for Kings Court." I don't answer him, I just mutter a simple, "hm."
"HEY DORIAN!" Nick yells stumbling over furniture trying to get over to us. "Remember the rules. No flirting with my sister" he says, a finger to Dorians chest. "Relax buddy, I wasn't" he replies, his hands in the air.
Another boy comes stumbling over out of breath. "Yeah listen to Nick, she's mine!" He says between breaths. Kai Ellis. He was a year younger than us (freshman) and ever since he met me he's developed a weird crush on me. I laugh lightly and ruffle his dirty blonde hair. "It's okay Kai, Dorian wasn't ever really my type to begin with" I chuckle looking at Dorian. Kai smiles, his dark hazel eyes all squinted.
To be honest I shouldn't help him pursue his love for me but he was to sweet to say no too. Nick hooks both Dorian and Kai by their arms and lures them away. They both wave bye to me as Nick sits them both down on the furniture. I overhear Kai question Nick, "hey Nick what's the rules you were talking about earlier?"
Kai was the newest to the team so he was the only one who didn't know about them. Around 7th grade year my brother decided to make a set of rules with Dorian to make sure their friendship didn't end. And dating me was one of them.
As the night went on I fell asleep at the table with Oscar in my lap. "Hey D" Kai calls out. "I would hate to be you, never being able to date Lena. She's gorgeous and smart" he says with a smile. "I know.." Dorian replies, a sound of need in his voice. "Night Lena." He kisses the top of my head and falls asleep beside me. "Night Dori" I mutter.

I wake up to a bright flash in my eyes. I groan as I lift my head. I rub my eyes and I see stars in the back of my eyelids for a bit. "Shit, I forgot to turn off my flash from last night." I hear a bunch of hushed whispers around me. I sit up straight. I had made my way to the floor in my sleep. Oscar was cuddled up in my arms. I look up and see a couple of my brothers teammates hovering over me with their phones out."Hey!" I whisper, trying to grab it from them. "Relax Len, we aren't being perverted, it's for blackmail." They wave their phone in my face and show me a picture of me and... "oh shit". I look to my side and see Dorian laying next to me his arm around my waist. I throw his arm off of me, waking him up. "Ouch what the fuck" he mumbles. "Get up you lolo!" (A/N: lolo is Hawaiian slang for stupid, main characters dad is from Kauaʻi) I whisper. "I can't!" He says.
I give him a confused look. He nods his head behind him. Nick was clinging to his shirt. I stifle a laugh. "I've been up for hours, but I haven't gotten the chance to move because I don't wanna wake him up!" He's right, waking up Nick is hell, he's so loud in the morning.
I soon get three notifications on my phone. I open it and see messages going off in 'the boyz and mom' with a little upset emoji at the end. It was a group chat of the hockey boys and I, and they considered me a mean mother figure. The most random people would get added to the chat, a new manager, new girlfriends or accidental adds.
"Nicky was removed"
"Image sent"
"Nicky was added to..."A flurry of texts followed, little devil emojis and condescending "oooh's", not to mention Kai's sad face emoji that he frequently used. Literally what was with them, they were all in the same room. I reply with a "stfu" and they all just chuckle.
I hear Dorian laugh lightly. I turn to see him on his phone. The little save check by the picture.
