Chapter 4: The Letter and Approval

"A former Hashira, Sakonji Urokodaki sent this letter with a request. I shall read to you all this letter from him.
'Please let Tanjiro and Nezuko accompany each other. Thanks to Nezuko's strong resilience, she has not lost her human heart. Even when she was starving, she never once consumed a human in the last two years or so. It may sound silly, but it's true. If Nezuko were to actually eat a human, I, Tanjiro Kamado, and Giyuu Tomioka will commit seppuku as a form of penance. '" one of the children of Kagaya Ubayashiki read out the letter.
"What about Miya?" Obanai asked.
"I will also commit seppuku to take on the same form of penance as I have protected Nezuko and Tanjiro," Miyaki replied while looking at Obanai directly in his eyes to show that she was serious.
Tanjiro was tearing up after hearing all this.
"Who cares how they end their lives? It doesn't guarantee our safety!" Sanemi argued.
"Shinazugawa is right, if she kills a human, we can't turn back, the person will be lost forever!" Rengoku agreed.
"You do have a point...we can't guarantee she won't attack humans, but we also can't guarantee she will attack humans. That being said, we do know she hasn't been eating any humans for over 2 years and there are four people who would vouch for her with their lives. If this evidence proves to not be sufficient, one must tell a more convincing argument to counter what has been said. Are any of you able to do so?" Kagaya asked to the Hashiras.
Everyone stayed silent.
"One other thing I would like to inform you all about is that Tanjiro has met Muzan Kibutsuji face to face." Kagaya informed to the Hashiras.
"What? Finally, someone knows about Muzan's whereabouts after so many centuries! I only ever met him twice and both times were when I lost control of my morals.", Miyaki thought to herself.
Everyone looked toward Tanjiro in shock.
"That's impossible! Not even a Hashira has crossed paths with Kibutsuji! Did you really? What did he look like? What are his powers? Where did you see him?" Tengen asked frantically.
"Did you fight?" Muichiro asked monotonously.
"What was Kibutsuji doing? Did you find his stronghold? Answer me!" Sanemi asked aggressively while pulling Tanjiro's hair and shaking Tanjiro's head.
"Shinazugawa, stop pulling on the boy's hair!" Miyaki ordered.
After she said that, she noticed something she didn't notice earlier, Tanjiro's hanafuda earrings. Her eyes widened a little when she saw them.
"Are those...no...it can't be...Tanjiro's wearing the hanafuda earrings...or is it a coincidence? I have to ask Tanjiro later or tell this to Kagaya.", Miyaki thought.
Tengen and Sanemi started arguing about whose questions Tanjiro are to answer and to silence them, Kagaya puts his index finger to his lips to signal them to hush. The two obeyed and shut their mouths up.
"About that man, we do know he's after Tanjiro to silence him. But now that he has finally revealed himself, I wish to seize on that opportunity. I also believe something is happening to Nezuko that Kibutsuji never saw coming. Do you agree with me now?"
"I'm afraid I don't, Master. If it were human, we would spare it, no questions asked. But after all that we went through, after losing countless of our brethren to demons, asking us to house a demon is unacceptable and doesn't make sense!" Sanemi said out of rage.
Sanemi pulls out his katana and cuts part of his arm to have blood dripping to test to see if Nezuko really doesn't drink human blood. Tanjiro and Mitsuri's eyes widened in shock at what Sanemi was doing. The rest were watching what he was doing.
"Master, please forgive what I am about to do next," Sanemi said.
He took the box and leaped into the dark room and started jabbing his katana, piercing the box and Nezuko's body before opening the box to let Nezuko come out. Miyaki starts to get up from her position and head into the dark.
"What do you think you are doing?" Tengen asked.
"I'm only observing to see if it's true or not," Miyaki said nonchalantly when in truth, she is returning back into the darkness as she feels some pain due to the sun's temperature and gets to kneeling on one leg for the Master.
"Well, you aren't to get up unless-" Rengoku started saying until Kagaya interrupted him.
"Let Miyaki observe, it's alright," Kagaya said.
"So Miyaki is your name? Why did you say your name was Miya?" Shinobu asked.
"Miya is just my nickname," Miyaki replied as she looked to see Nezuko coming out of the box and standing before Sanemi as Sanemi puts his arm out to Nezuko. Miyaki was kinda getting hungry herself, but she resists as she thought about satiating her hunger with animal blood later.
Obanai used his elbow to hold Tanjiro back from going to see what's happening in a close view.
"What's wrong now? You know you want the blood." Sanemi said with a menacing smile to Nezuko. 
Tanjiro broke free from the ropes by using his breathing and Obanai wanted to keep him in one spot by pushing him down with his elbow again, but Giyuu held Obanai back.
Nezuko was drooling because she was wanting to drink Sanemi's blood, but suddenly she turned her head away in disgust! That was a surprise to all, especially to Miyaki, despite being a demon herself.
"As a demon, I've still had desires to want to drink human blood, it's amazing how she resisted the blood, especially since it's the blood that makes us demons want to have a taste!" Miyaki thought.
"This is proof Nezuko will not attack humans." Kagaya said.
"Sanemi and Obanai, don't torment the young boy so much." Kagaya ordered.
"As you wish, Master." Obanai obeyed as he looked down at the ground.
"As you wish." Sanemi said, obeying Kagaya's order.
"We finished our business with you, Tanjiro." Kagaya said.
"If that's so, please allow me to have Tanjiro recover in my estate." Shinobu requested.
Shinobu then asked the Kakushis to take them there.
A Kakushi comes to take Tanjiro to the Butterfly Estate for him to recover and bows before Master Kagaya and the Hashira before taking Tanjiro to the estate. Another Kakushi takes Nezuko to the estate.
"Now then, let's start the Hashira meeting-" Kagaya declared before getting interrupted by Tanjiro.
"Now hold on just a second!" Tanjiro yelled, running back.
"Come back here!" the Kakushis yelled at him.
Tanjiro fell face first into the ground and started speaking to the master of the mansion.
"Please allow me to headbutt that man full of scars for what he did to Nezuko!" Tanjiro said while the Kakushi were telling him to shut up.
Muichiro pulled out a pebble and threw it towards Tanjiro.
"Don't interrupt the Master, you aren't allowed to do that." Muichiro responded in a stoic face with a cold voice.
"We apologize for interrupting, Lord Tokito!" the Kakushi trembled as they bow to him and forcefully take Tanjiro to the Butterfly Estate.
The seminannual Hashira Meeting finally commences.
