The Nature Hashira

Chapter 2: Ambush

Indeed Miyaki was correct as a Hashira did come to kill Nezuko due to her being a demon. Giyuu got into position to deflect the attack coming from the Hashira. Miyaki was protecting Tanjiro and Nezuko while that was happening, expecting the Hashira to directly attack the siblings while she was protecting them.
"Oh my, who may you be protecting a demon and a demon slayer?" asked the Hashira in a sweet voice.
"Miya, Demon Slayer, and who may you be?" Miyaki asked with a calm tone to hide suspicions.
"Oh, what a shame that you don't know who I am! I'm Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira," answered Shinobu.
"I see..." Miyaki said in a contemptuous tone.
"Tomioka, why must you be in my way? I'm just doing my job by killing the demon, so why are you not letting me kill her?" asked Shinobu.
Giyuu just looks at her with an emotionless expression and doesn't answer Shinobu's question.
"That's why no one likes you," Shinobu said with a smile.
"Huh?!" Miyaki and Tanjiro said at the same time as they were both confused.
"No one dislikes me," responded Giyuu to her comment.
"What am I witnessing?" Miyaki says while shaking her head.
"Please move out the way, young boy. You're protecting a demon, I don't want to get you hurt." Shinobu said.
"Kocho, that demon you are talking about?" Miyaki with exasperation evident in her voice.
"She's my sister!", Tanjiro replied, hoping it was justified to not have his sister killed.
"Since she's your sister, I suppose I'll kill her with no pain to be given to her," Shinobu said in a sweet voice.
"Tanjiro, take your sister and run. Miya, you should run as well since you protected them." Giyuu instructed.
"I won't run, but they can." Miyaki insisted.
Tanjiro thanked Giyuu and started running while carrying Nezuko. Miyaki realized that Tanjiro forgot to take the box, but she decided to give him the box later.
"Miya, I'll say it one more time, you should run," Giyuu said.
"I won't run, I know what Shinobu is going to do," she reassured Giyuu that she knew what she was doing by not running.
"You aren't capable of fighting against her, she's a Hashira." Giyuu warned Miya.
"And you-" she couldn't finish her sentence as Shinobu aimed towards Miyaki but luckily, Miyaki deflected the attack with ease. Shinobu attacks Miyaki again with even more speed and accuracy and Miyaki defended against that attack as well.
"Kocho, you aren't doing the right choice by attacking another ally," Miyaki said.
Shinobu then attacked Giyuu right after Miyaki and he defended himself in the attack as well. Shinobu then started to jump to a tree and started to leap trees to catch up to Tanjiro and Nezuko. Giyuu then started to catch up to Shinobu while Miyaki goes to Tanjiro and Nezuko while carrying the box to give to Tanjiro. Miyaki caught up to Tanjiro and Nezuko and sees another demon slayer going towards them.
"Tanjiro, take this box and go! I'll handle whatever gets in your way!", she exclaimed and got in front of the demon slayer that was running towards Nezuko.
Tanjiro took the box and ran even faster with Nezuko. Miyaki caught up with the demon slayer and she protected Tanjiro and Nezuko by attacking the demon slayer. The demon slayer fights back and tried to push her out of the way but Miyaki didn't budge. Soon that demon slayer was fighting against her.
"Caw, caw! Take Tanjiro and Nezuko to custody! Tanjiro with his checkered haori and the demon Nezuko with a bamboo muzzle! Bring them into the headquarters! Caw! Caw!" the Kasugai crow announced to all the demon slayers alive while flying.
"Kanao, do you know where they are?" another demon slayer asks while running to find Tanjiro and Nezuko.
"So her name is Kanao...I see...", Miyaki thought to herself as she sheathes her spear.
Kanao shakes her head as she runs to go get them. Miyaki and the other demon slayer follow her to take them into the Demon Slayer Corps.
