The morning greeted me with its gentle embrace as I stirred awake. I turned my gaze towards my wife, still lost in peaceful slumber. Unlike me, an early riser, Mon had never been one to welcome the morning with open arms.

As I lay there, the memories of our fight from the previous day resurfaced in my mind. I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. It hurt to see how she valued the opinions of others more than my own. Yet, despite it all, I knew that this was just one of her endearing qualities. My wife had a heart that cared deeply for everyone around her. In this particular situation, however, her worries and overthinking about what others might say about our relationship had consumed her.

But for me, those external voices held no weight. As long as she remained by my side, as long as I could hold her close and shower her with my love, nothing else mattered.

Tenderly, I ran my fingers through her silky hair, planting a soft kiss upon her forehead. My love for her was so profound that her tears had the power to shatter me. It took mere moments for forgiveness to wash over me when I saw the glistening trails down her cheeks.

Leaving her to rest peacefully, I glanced at my phone to check the time. It was still early, around seven in the morning. Knowing that Mon usually wouldn't wake up until nine or ten on weekends, I carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to disturb her.

I took a moment to freshen up, changing into casual clothes, before making my way downstairs. The aroma of breakfast wafted through the air as I entered the kitchen. Mon's parents were already at the table, enjoying their morning meal. Spotting me, they welcomed me with warm smiles and invited me to join them.

"Good morning, dear. Come, have something to eat before we start baking," Mae said, her voice filled with affection as she prepared a plate for me.

Gratefully, I nodded and began serving myself with crispy bacon and fluffy pancakes. Unbeknownst to Mon, I had sought Mae's guidance yesterday, eager to learn how to bake a whole cake. Mon had a penchant for sweet pastries, and as her devoted wife, I believed it was essential for me to master the art of baking, even if it was just a basic cake. When I said "yes" to her marriage proposal, I had already made a mental list of ways to be the best wife I could possibly be.

Aside from giving her physical pleasure, I believed that providing her all the basic needs comes first. It wasn't a problem for me because I was rich but it was important to particularly give her what she really loves and what really makes her happy.

Phaw's voice broke the silence as he asked, "Did the two of you resolve your conflict from yesterday?

I mustered a small smile and nodded. "It was just a little misunderstanding."

Mae's laughter filled the air. "My daughter can be quite stubborn at times, so I ask for your patience. By the way, any chance of us having grandchildren soon?"

Startled by the sudden question, I nearly choked on my coffee. My eyes widened as I looked at them, sensing their anticipation for my response.

Clearing my throat, I briefly glanced towards the staircase, ensuring that Mon wasn't within earshot, before turning back to our parents.

"To be honest, I want to have children with her. At least, two or three. I always imagine myself playing with little Mon with my wife. But I think it's too early for that."

"Why? Is my daughter against the idea?" Phaw asked curiously.

I shook my head. "We never talked about it actually so I don't really know if she wants to have children with me. I'm afraid what she will say about it so I never initiates anything."
