Monmon
I made sure to wake up at six in the morning to cook breakfast for both of us. Usually, we missed out on weekday breakfasts due to our busy work schedules, resorting to ordering food from outside. However, on weekends, we cherished the opportunity to share this meal together.
Today, we had planned to visit Grandma, and I couldn't help but feel a touch of anxiety. She was making an effort to understand our relationship, but there were certain boundaries I needed to respect.
Prior to our wedding, Grandma had a private conversation with me, unbeknownst to Khun Sam.
Firstly, she advised me to keep our relationship as private as possible in the public eye, unless specifically asked about it. That's why I refrained from posting anything about us on social media. Surprisingly, Khun Sam never noticed, as she too was a private person. In fact, only a select few, including me, the gang, and Khun Kirk, got to see her social media posts. She didn't particularly care if I posted about us or not. It wasn't that Grandma explicitly stated we had to keep our relationship a secret; she simply wished to protect Khun Sam, considering the potential challenges that might arise due to her royal status.
Secondly, Grandma requested that I remain in my current position at the company for at least a year, unless I could demonstrate that I was capable of handling a higher role. She cautioned against Khun Sam blindly promoting me just because I was her wife. Such preferential treatment would create unfairness among the employees and disrupt the company's balance. This was primarily why I asked Khun Sam to continue serving as the admin of Diversity Pop, until I gained the necessary experience to manage a team. Khun Sam seemed to envision me as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), a relatively new position responsible for our marketing activities.
Diversity was a budding company in the digital industry, still in the process of growth. While we offered various digital services to our clients, Diversity Pop was Khun Sam's brainchild, focused solely on generating passive income through content creation. I wanted to dedicate my efforts to this project, increasing profits and helping my wife achieve her goals for the year. Therefore, I wholeheartedly agreed with Grandma's advice.
However, the third request Grandma made of us presented a significant challenge, as I wasn't sure if Khun Sam would be willing to accept it. Hence, it became essential for me to claim that wish.
As I finished preparing breakfast, my wife finally arrived, her sleepy demeanor apparent. She walked up to me and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"Good morning, Teerak. I love you," she said.
"I love you too," I replied, smiling. I gently pulled her down to sit on the chair beside me. "Let's eat."
I served her a plate with a portion of scrambled eggs, a cinnamon waffle, and a few sausages before pouring her a steaming cup of coffee.
Throughout the meal, she couldn't take her eyes off me, clearly entertained. Eventually, she reciprocated by serving me the same items on my plate, adding a larger portion.
We playfully fed each other, like a hopelessly in love couple. Well, that's exactly what we were. Deeply in love.
"By the way, how's the new assistant?" she suddenly inquired.
"Mai?" I responded, slightly puzzled by her question. "She's doing great so far. She even brought me a box of strawberry cheesecake. Apparently, her parents own a bakery."
"Oh, so she's already bringing baked goods for everyone?" she asked with curiosity.
I shook my head. "No, just for me. She said she's grateful for me being a supportive senior. But I did share the cake with everyone."
