Note before reading:

I finally continued writing again last week and cannot put into words how much I have missed it. On top of that I've been getting so many sweet comments. I have started working on my next 15-chaptered story, so stay tuned for the first chapter to drop in July.

Also, my next one shot will be called Killer's Kiss, which is going to be so edgy I am almost afraid to post it for people thinking it's too messed up. Counting on you all being little horny psychopaths like me.

Love,

Nina

"I am telling you- if you would stop being such a nervous wreck around Bucky Barnes, you guys would already be wrapped up into each other like some weird Kamasutra power couple," Nat complained, a glass of wine at her lips and a hair curler in her hand.

"I don't know Nat...." you mumbled, quite sure that whatever Bucky Barnes thought when he saw you, it wasn't bending you in indecent ways so he could have his way with you.

"Why else would he have asked you to come tonight?" Nat countered.

"He asked US to come tonight Nat."

"Yeah- while undressing you with his eyes," Nat replied as she wiggled her eyebrows, something she only did when under the effect of copious amounts of alcohol. It made a violent blush creep up your cheeks. Hell, you could not face Bucky like this. You quickly downed your glass of wine, knowing you were going to need every single drop of it tonight.

"Atta girl," Nat hollered as she smacked your ass on her way back to your bedroom. Honestly, Nat wasn't wrong. You were always quite confident around people, didn't shy away from flirting with a guy and definitely didn't struggle to belt your heart out to a good karaoke song. But the moment when Bucky Barnes had invited you to come to the karaoke night was the moment you turned into a stuttering mess.

You had had your eyes on him for years, always too afraid to make a move. By the time you had convinced yourself it was do or die Bucky had gotten himself a girlfriend; Sharon, the most popular girl in Cedar Crest. God- how often you had fantasized about punching her in the face. Or run her over with your truck. You and Nat had spent many a night coming up with creative yet unconventional ways to dump the body of Sharon Carter. The two of you had binged so many crime shows together that you felt confident no one would ever find her body.

But, one year later she and Bucky had finally broken up. It had been a couple of months now which, according to Nat, meant that Bucky Barnes was fair game.

"All right babe. Let's go over it again," Nat started as she walked in, wearing a skimpy black dress which surely would have Rogers' eyes popping out of his head, "We both look..."

"-hot," you finished, knowing it was the answer she was looking for. Honestly, you did feel hot in the denim shorts and top you were wearing, but maybe a bit too hot for a karaoke club, so you wore a denim jacket to make it a bit less revealing.

"Right- and what are we NOT going to do?"

"Get drunk?" you replied, knowing it was the wrong answer, but you always liked to provoke your redhead best friend.

"Wrong. We are not going to behave like a deer in headlights in front of Bucky Barnes."

"Right," you replied, mentally reminding yourself that there was no reason to be nervous around him. If you really did want him to like you, you ought to act as you did around friends. Which was a lot wilder and more confident than you had shown him in the past year.
