Still Friday, now 12:20 PM. Mark is leaving his 3rd period class but he drops his phone in the hallway. He goes to pick his phone back up, when he looks back up Vanessa walks up to him.
"Hey." Vanessa said.
Mark greeted her back with a hey and begins to get nervous inside.
"So how old are you?" Vanessa asked.
"I'm 14, what about you?" Mark asked.
"I'm 14 also, Can I have your number?" Vanessa asked.
Mark's stomach is filled with butterflies and he is now surprised, he thought that he would have to approach her himself, but he is lucky. Mark proceeds to give Vanessa his phone number and Vanessa thanks him. Mark goes into the nearby restroom which had no one inside and congratulated himself in excitement. He knew no one would see him do it if he was in the restroom. Mark walked out of the restroom and remembered that he has lunch with Ethan now.
When Mark makes it to lunch, he gets his lunch and sits with Ethan.
"Bro, Vanessa asked for my number!" Mark said.
"Really!?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah!" Mark responded.
Mark told Ethan about everything that happened with him and Vanessa, Ethan was proud of him being able to get the girl that he wanted, but getting her number was only the beginning.
"So now that you and her a friends, but maybe you should see if she wants to go to the expo with us." Ethan suggested.
"Good idea, I'll ask her about it when I get the chance." Mark replied.
Later that day after school ends, Mark is back home in his room thinking about how he should send the first text. So he sends a simple "Hey" text. Vanessa replies with "Heyy" back.
"Wyd?"
"Just sitting in my bed. Nothing much. What about you?" Vanessa Texted.
"Same. Wanna play 21 questions?" Mark texted.
Mark believes that 21 questions is a good way to get to know someone, only if you're asking the right questions. Vanessa agrees to play 21 questions with him and Mark starts off with asking the first question.
"So where are you from?" Mark asked.
"I'm from Detroit, me and my family moved here in Seattle in 2012, What's your favorite movie?" Vanessa texted.
"As of right now, Captain America 2. But it changes a lot." Mark texted.
"You like Marvel? I love Marvel movies." Vanessa texted.
"Yeah I do." Mark texted.
Mark and Vanessa texted back and fourth with more and more questions. One of the questions he ask is "Would you like to go with me and my friend Ethan to the Expo tomorrow." Vanessa agreed to go with him and his friend the expo.
