Sonic and Shadow, both in their super forms, floated in space, both hedgehogs watching as the Ark Cannon exploded into oblivion, rendering their success in stopping it from destroying Earth. Shadow held his head, dizzy from how much energy he spent, but kept his composure, refusing to let himself pass out.

"You good there Shadow?" Sonic asked, glancing over at the red-striped hedgehog.

"I'm fine." Shadow replied, despite how faint he felt.

Sonic's eyes narrowed a little, looking unconvinced, and as he went to speak, a second explosion went off. Shadow and Sonic both looked over, seeing that the Ark Cannon was already destroyed, but a flash of light rose from it, almost looking like a nuke and approaching the two hedgehogs fast.

Teeth baring, Shadow blasted a chaos spear, one much bigger than the normal ones he blasted before being turned into his super form, at the mysterious explosion, the two blasts colliding, turning the colors green and red, and sped up in speed, engulfing both hedgehogs before any of them could say or do anything about it. Shadow's vision went completely white, making it unclear what had happened. He tried to look around to see what happened to Sonic, but saw no sign of him.

Distant voices could be heard, audible even though Shadow has good hearing, the hedgehog straining to listen, but to no avail. Within seconds, images flashed in front of him, briefly showing frozen skeletons of humans, feminine chuckling being heard, red lights flashing in a hallway, and a humanoid robot blasting a winged one with a large blaster before his vision went black. 'Be wary of who you trust.' A feminine, computer-like voice warned in Shadow's mind.

"Shadow!" The voice of Sonic called out, sounding anxious.

Shadow blinked his eyes open, his vision a little blurry, but he could still make out Sonic standing over him, the azure hedgehog looking worried. A musty smell struck Shadow's nose like a punch, and he sat up, looking down to see he had been placed on a mattress, his vision clearing as he noticed Sonic was no longer in his super form, glancing at himself to see that he was no longer super as well. 'Did that explosion teleport us on Earth?' Shadow wondered, confused on what in the world was happening, glancing around to see that he and Sonic, who was also no longer super, were in an old apartment building judging by the small size, a window located behind Sonic as wind howled and snowflakes flew by in white small blurs. Wherever they were, they were clearly in an area where it was snowing quite a lot.

"What in the world happened?" Shadow asked, his voice a little groggy, the black and red hedgehog glancing at Sonic.

"I'm not sure. All I remember is us stopping the Ark Cannon, then this second explosion went off, and I woke up here a few minutes before you did." Sonic replied.

Shadow stood up, Sonic doing the same, and walked over to the window, looking outside out of curiosity. Dark grey clouds covered the majority of the sky, snow falling fiercely with no sign of ending anytime soon, and from a distance stood what looked like a structure of some sort, seemingly a place for shelter. Shadow felt chills up his spine in unease, the place looking like something from Earth itself, but the lack of any humans or animals gave off a ghost town vibe, and he very much doubted that the humans were simply indoors.

"I don't think we're on Earth." Shadow spoke up, his unease rolling off his tone.

"What makes you say that?" Sonic questioned, confused.

"Because the moon didn't look like that." Shadow answered, pointing outside at a planet that would easily be mistakened as the moon if it weren't for the matching ring around the big bright orb.
