"Osamu Dazai get your butt over here!" Kunikida shouted across the shopping mall, stomping his feet as he searched for the brunette.

A normal mission, except that Dazai decided it would be a funny idea to steal Kunikida's notebook and disappear in the mall, in the middle of the mission. Atsushi had lost the two of sight, as they both dashed out in a blink of an eye once Kunikida noticed his notebook was missing. He sighed and huffed, cursing the brunette he worked with mentally.

"If you don't give me back my notebook, I swear that I—"

Thud.

Someone bumped on him and the two fell to the floor, Kunikida sitting down with his eyes shut tight, someone on top of him.

"Oh, goodness, I'm so sorry!"

He opened his eyes. "It's—" he froze. "Fine. . ."

A girl stood up and held out her hand to help him up, the bangs over her face and that smile she boarded, were far from strangers to Kunikida. But, gods cursed him, she recognised his figure as well.

"Doppo-kun?"

Kunikida blinked, a neutral and cold look was shot towards the girl. "Do I know you? Why are you calling me by my first name?"

She blinked in confusion, then giggled. "You really forgot me? It's me, Nobuko, Nobuko Sasaki, we were childhood friends."

He didn't forget her, far from that actually. But he didn't want to talk to her, he was already stressed enough, he didn't need more stress.

Kunikida hit her hand away and stood up. "Sorry, I don't know anyone with that name." he walked past her, going back to looking for Dazai.

The sound of footsteps accompanied him. She didn't actually follow him, did she?

"I know you didn't forget me, Doppo-kun, you're just being childish over what happened back then."

Kunikida almost cleansed his fists. Childish?

"I assure you, whatever happened between you and your friend, has nothing do to with me." Kunikida kept walking.

"Doppo, I was different back then, please talk to me."

He stopped, pensively staring at the ground. He sighed silently, maybe she was right, it has been years since that had happened, he changed a lot since then, maybe she did change too. But, his chest tightened a bit, she acted like that was nothing. Could she really have changed?

"What do you want, Sasaki?"

Nobuko smiled. "Well, Doppo, I—"

"Stop repeating my name multiple times," Kunikida demanded. "Also, Kunikida."

She understood the message. "Okay, Kunikida-kun," she said. "I missed you, how have you been? I haven't seen you since your dad forbid me from seeing you again."

There wasn't a reply for a moment.

"I'm doing fine," he replied. "Found a new place to stay, a new family, some annoying co-workers."

Nobuko giggled. "Well, it's kind of easy to make you annoyed."

"At least they're not befriending me to get closer to someone else, like my dad." Kunikida spat, as a reminder.

Another brief silence. "What are you doing here? Anything caught you attention?"

"Mission," Kunikida replied. "And looking for a walking mummy."

"And where is your notebook?"

His frown deepened. "Another thing I'm looking for."

After a few more steps, Nobuko tugged on his wrists and made both stop before a mannequin of a store. "Look, isn't it pretty?" she pointed at a garment in a very outstanding shade of blue, it had a tail that reached the knees, and a pocket that could fit a tablet, or a notebook. Kunikida hummed in agreement, and turned around.
