Everlasting Shine (Sanemi x Kanae)

Chapter 3

Scent of wisteria flower filled the entire house of Kochou. Sun rises to the clear blue sky. Sounds of chirping birds gives a natural vibe.

Kochou Kanae hummed as she placed down the tools in her medicine kit.

"Nee-san, it's time to eat." her little sister, Kochou Shinobu, came to her room to remind her that it was time for lunch. She has deep purple eyes with no visible pupils, her hair tied into a french bun as the butterfly hair clip she gave was placed on it and her beautiful hair was black with purple tips.

And Kanae has pale violet eyes with many notable white sparkles reflecting on them and long hair accompanied with two butterfly hair clip each side.

"Yes. I'm coming down in a minute." she replied. Shinobu nodded and went downstairs. Kanae chuckled and flushed as she thought of her little sister wearing the yellow kimono she gave.

Setting aside her medicine kit, she went downstairs and went to the lunch hall where her family eats. Their house was enormous, of course, it was a hospital for sick and injured people. Her parents are both experts in medicine, they decided to build a house like this to help other people. As she arrived at the lunch hall, she saw her family waiting for her.

"Come here, my dear." Her father spoke as she walk towards the table and sat down beside Kanao. Her adoptive sister. Neighbours thought that she really was her sister because of her large, gentle eyes of a dark lilac color. Kanao was like a combination of Kanae and Shinobu. Her hair was tied into a ponytail at the right side of her hair accompanied with pink butterfly hair clip Kanae gave her.

Actually, her parents welcomed 5 girls to their home and they were not against it.

They happily ate their lunch together. Kanae felt so happy seeing them smile and laugh to her father's jokes. It was loud yet peaceful.

"Kanae nee-san, here's for you." Kiyo passed her a plate of riceballs. Kanae smiled sweetly as she grabbed two riceballs and thanked her.

Her beautiful mother excused herself to the bathroom. Kanae followed her figure until she disappeared.

"What's wrong, Aoi?" Kanae heard her father asked. She glanced to the blue eyed girl who was clutching her stomach. She saw her pained face and ran away to the bathroom.

"Aoi, wait!" Shinobu was about to follow her yet she was stopped by Kanae, giving her an reassuring smile.
Shinobu returned to her seat and continued to eat her food.

Everything felt odd, she thought. Her mother didn't came back, it was almost 30 minutes since she left the table. Kanae shook her head gently.
Suddenly, a Kakushi appeared wet and tired. Her father stood and approached the Kakushi.

Kanae guessed that it was raining outside. How odd is the weather.

"Emergency, Kochou-dono," he bowed politely, "we brought two men who 
were seriously hurt." Mr. Kochou furrowed his brows and command the Kakushi to bring them in.

Kanae was worried at how bad was their wounds were. How deep it was. She told her sisters to stay and followed her father to the emergency ward. Her eyes widened as she entered the ward. Two men were seriously hurt like they were at the edge of death. One man who looks like her age has multiples cuts all over his body. The other one was a kid whom she thought has the same age as Kanao and Aoi, saw his abdomen turned purple, and cuts around his body even his feminine face.

"Kanae! Please get those tools for me! Quick!" her father commanded. She hastily grabbed the tools that were needed for people who are seriously hurt. Ms. Kochou assists the boy, checking his pulse, and made him drank painkillers.
