Lady Bridget Frances Seymour meets Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell
One day Lady Bridget Frances Seymour was traveling into Norfolk to do some shopping and she saw a young woman walking into town.
Lady Bridget Frances Seymour didn't know it was Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell as she was walking from Bedford Territory and Lady Bridget stops and asks her " Would you like a ride into town."
Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell looks up and she answers, "I would appreciate it. I live in Bedford Territory and I didn't want to bother Lord Carey."
"Oh! You know Lord Richard William Carey. I am betrothed to his second cousin, Lord Andrew Charles Howard." Lady Bridget tells her.
"Oh! Is that so?" Karissa answered, " I had heard Lord Stupider was betrothed."
"Why do you call Lord Andrew Charles by that name?" Lady Bridget asks.
"Let me tell you something about Lord Andrew Charles Howard. Lord Andrew Charles and his two cousins tried to mastermind a plan to trap three young women here on Star Base 12 with the hope of marrying them." Karissa tells Lady Bridget.
"Lady Seymour, Do you realize that Lord Andrew Charles is under pressure to marry and produce a grandchild for his father." Karissa asks.
"Lady Howard went as far as asking one of the Ladies to come out to Norfolk Estate and she pleaded for her son." Karissa explains
Lady Bridget is all ears and Karissa tells her " Lord Andrew Charles is desperate to give his father a grandchild."
"Do you realize that your child will become The next Duke or 1st Duchess of Norfolk Territory." Karissa explains.
"Do you realize that you are his second choice and 1st Love is hard to forget." Karissa asks her.
"You will walk in her shadow and when you two make love, Lord Andrew Charles will fantasize that he is making love to her and not you." Karissa asks.
"Lady Howard dreaded sleeping with Lord Andrew Charles Howard's father and she had a very unhappy marriage." Karissa explains
"How do you know all this?" Lady Bridget asks.
"I do because I am the one that Lady Howard talked to at Norfolk Estate and she pleaded with me to accept her son." Karissa explains.
Lady Bridget looks at Karissa "I had heard about you, Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell." Lady Bridget states.
"What have you heard about me?" Karissa asks.
"Only that your friends and you live out in Bedford Territory." Lady Bridget tells her.
"I asked Lord Andrew Charles if he was thinking about you, but he denied it." Lady Bridget explains,
"Lord Andrew Charles told me his head was in the clouds and it's his way of escaping reality." Lady Bridget tells her.
"I often try to escape from reality myself." Karissa answers, "It is a harsh reality when you have to start all over."
"Lord Andrew Charles Howard is smitten with you now, Lady Bridget but his heart will always be with me." Karissa tells her.
"I prefer Lord Richard William Carey and the country life of Bedford Territory over that of NorfolK Territory." Karissa admits.
"When Susan, Katherine and I first arrived. They placed their designs on us, but Lord David William Beck told Katherine what Lord Andrew Charles and Lord Richard Edward The Second had planned to entrap us. "Karissa tells Lady Bridget.
"Personally. I think you can do better than Lord Andrew Charles Howard." Karissa tells Lady Bridget.
"Karissa. I am 22 years old and I don't want to die a spinster." Lady Bridget tells her.
"I am 20 years old and I don't call myself an outdated term like Spinster, because being single is better than submitting to a man." Karissa tells her.
"You will submit yourself to a man, become his sex toy, and baby-maker." Karissa tells her.
"It is all well and fine if you want children, but you don't want to become a breeding mare." Karissa states.
"Lord Andrew Charles Howard is very handsome, but he thinks he is The Goddess Gift to all women on Star Base 12 but he can't handle rejection very well." Karissa explains.
"If you had turned him down, he would have become Humpty Dumpty that sat on the wall and took a great fall and he would crack into a thousand pieces." Karissa explains.
"I won't try to dissuade you one way or another, but I have given you the facts." Karissa tells Lady Bridget.
"Lord Andrew Charles is a charming rogue and what you don't see might hurt you." Karissa tells her.
"I am sure that your father could find you the son of an Earl to marry, and preferably the oldest son, so you could become a Countess without all the waiting Lord Andrew Charles has to do." Karissa explains.
"Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley told me Star-Base 12 is full of aristocrats. He told me that there are many Dukes, Earls, and Barons here on Star Base 12." Karissa tells Lady Bridget.
"I have no taste from the aristocracy and I don't want my children to grow up thinking that they are any better than anyone else's children." Karissa explained.
"I do want children when the time is right." Karissa explains, "I plan on taking some classes at the University."
Lady Bridget tells Karissa "I raise thoroughbred horses and my mare Kosem has many colts with a Spanish Stallion."
'I like animals. "Karissa admits, " I love gardens, in fact Madame has given me her garden to tend."
"I have seen her gardens. They are beautiful.' Lady Bridget admits.
"If I were you. I wouldn't hurry into marriage with Lord Andrew Charles Howard." Karissa tells her "Only fools rush into a marriage."
"I don't see you as a fool, but perhaps you are lonely." Karissa tells her.
"Find other interests and divert your mind from Lord Andrew Charles Howard, and stay clear of Lord Richard Edward Howard The Second and Lord David William Beck." Karissa warns Lady Bridget.
"I am sure in time your father will find you a compatible match worthy of you." Karissa explains.
The Seymour carriage arrives in downtown Norfolk and Karissa thanks her for the ride and she climbs out.
Lady Bridget starts to think if she really wants to marry Lord Andrew Charles now as she knows that Karissa will always be his first love and she will be his second choice.
