Lunch at Norfolk Estate
Lady Patricia Eugenie Howard nee Stuart sends Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell an invitation to Madame's Boarding House for Karissa to join her for lunch at Norfolk Estate.
The invitation is hand delivered by Lord Richard William Carey, and he hands it to Karissa and he tells her " It's from Lady Patricia."
"Oh! Lord Andrew Charles has his mother doing his dirty work for him now." Karissa asks.
"Lord Andrew Charles Howard will stop at nothing." Karissa tells Lord Richard William Carey.
"Listen Karissa. I can't tell you what to do, but I would accept her invitation and go find out what she wants and listen to her but make your position clear to her that you are not interested in her son, and Lord Charles Andrew Howard Junior will betroth him to someone in his own class." Lord Richard William explains.
"I am surprised she didn't send for Susan and Katherine but I know what Susan would send back a straight No Thank you." Karissa tells Lord Richard William Carey.
"Katherine would just tell her politely to mind her own business." Karissa tells Lord Richard William.
Lord Richard William Carey carries Karissa out to Norfolk Estate and he tells her " This is between the ladies."
"It most certainly is between the women." Karissa tells him " I will be respectful and polite to her, but I will tell her I will only marry a man and not a little boy."
"As I see it, that is exactly what her youngest son is: a little boy trapped in a man's body." Kariss states.
Karissa is dressed in a simple two piece outfit with her blonde hair down and she is escorted by Lord Richard William Carey and standing outside of Norfolk Estate is Lady Patricia Eugenie Stuart.
Lord Richard William Carey escorts Karissa over to where Lady Patricia is standing and she curtsy to her " I am glad you accepted my invitation to have lunch with me, Mademoiselle Karissa." Lady Patricia tells her.
"I thank you for asking me, Lady Howard." Karissa answers, "I am wondering why you did?"
"I sure hope it is not about your son, Lord Andrew Charles Howard." Karissa asks.
"Let us have lunch first and we will talk." Lady Patricia tells her and they walk around to the patio at Norfolk Estate and where lunch is served.
Lady Patricia starts to say " Mademoiselle Karissa. My son is very much in love with you and he has his heart set on you."
"Lady Howard. I didn't ask your son to fall in love with me." Karissa explains.
"My son is a good boy. He may be a bit wilder and rebellious." Lady Patricia explains.
"Lady Howard. No disrespect and you are entitled to your opinions about your son." Karissa answers.
"Lord Andrew Charles is sometimes foolish and he doesn't stop to think and he just acts." Lady Patricia tells her.
"I think he should think more before he acts and if he does he must suffer the consequences of his actions." Karissa states.
"Katherine was the one who found out via Lord David William Beck what your nephew and son had masterminded.' Karissa tells her.
"Susan wasn't too happy about it. She was outraged that your nephew would even think of getting married after he made her pregnant." Karissa tells Lady Patricia.
"Lord David William Beck told Katherine the same thing that your son planned to do the same thing." Karissa tells Lady Patricia.
"I know you don't believe the stork theory." Karissa asks Lady Patricia.
"No. I don't believe it. I had five children with Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and everytime we slept together. I dread it." Lady Patricia states.
"If your husband isn't any good. That tells me a lot about his youngest son." Karissa explains.
"Love is not sex and Sex is not love." Karissa explains " I want a marriage based on love and with it children."
"I don't follow your archaic marriage practices." Karissa explains, " Neither will my children when I have them."
"I don't believe in the aristocracy." Karissa explains. " I am sure there are plenty of young women on Star Base 12 that are suitable for your little boy."
"You have two other sons and Susan, Katherine and I state for the record " Look to them to give your husband and you. Your first male line grandchild." Karissa explains.
"Katherine, Susan and I will pick our own husbands." Karissa tells Lady Patricia.
"In fact, I think Lord Frederick William Howard is pretty sweet on Katherine, and I know Lord Thomas William is sweet for Susan, and I know Lord Richard William Carey has always liked me." Karissa explains.
"Susan, Katherine and I won't marry little boys trapped in a man's body. We want to marry men." Karissa tells her.
Lady Patricia listens to Karissa " I am sorry you feel this way about my son. "Lady Patricia tells her.
"Maybe if he had thought before he acted. It may have turned out better for him, but he didn't think.' Karissa states.
"There are plenty of aristocratic women for your son to marry." Karissa tells her.
"In fact, I know several at Madame's. Lady Katherine, Lady Mary Henrietta Grey, and Lady Josette and Isabella Collins." Karissa explains.
"My oldest son is contracted to marry Lady Millicent Collins." Lady Patricia states.
"I would look to Lord Grey and ask him if one his two oldest daughters are agreeable to marry Lord Andrew Charles." Karissa tells Lady Patricia.
"Susan, Katherine and I are not available." Karissa tells her and Karissa rises to her feet and she makes a curtsy and she walks around to the Carey carriage where Lord Richard William Carey is waiting for her.
"How did your lunch go?" Lord Richard William asks.
"I told her that Susan, Katherine and I were off limits to Lord Richard Edward The II, Lord David William Beck and Lord Andrew Charles." Karissa explains.
"Good thing she didn't ask Susan." Karissa tells Lord Richard William Carey.
Lord Richard William Carey and Karissa head back to Bedford Territory and Lady Patricia calls her son to her and she tells him " I am sorry my son, but Mademoiselle Karissa will not budge and she has made up her mind."
"Then tell my father. I will not marry at all and I will resign to being a Bachelor." Lord Andrew Charles tells his mother.
"Lord Andrew Charles. I believe your father will find you a bride within either Lord Grey or Lord Seymour's family and both have daughters, Lady Katherine and Lady Bridget." Lady Patricia explains.
"Your father has made a marriage agreement with Lord Jeremiah Collins for Lady Millicent to marry Lord Charles Andrew Howard The third." Lady Patricia explains.
"Lord William Seymour's daughter, Lady Bridget loves the country as you do. Somerset Territory is a nice place to live in between Suffolk and Lennox Territory." Lady Patricia explains.
"Lord Andrew Charles. Don't go to Bedford Territory and don't trespass on Starfleet Academy Property." Lady Patricia tells her son.
Lord Andrew Charles just looks at his mother and he bows and walks away.
