She wore herself out today. We decided to grab something to eat around seven, and then we started the drive home. It took less than five minutes for her to get comfortable and fall asleep.
Now, we're an hour into the two hour drive back to her house and her soft snores are the only sound coming to my ears. Sleepy girl. I don't know what I'm going to do when we go to college. I won't be able to see my girl everyday and sleep next to her every night. I should have convinced her to apply to Auburn instead of Mississippi State. It's not that far. I could see her on weekends, but I can't see my girl everyday with her being one state away.
Speaking of my Mia, she begins to stir next to me about thirty minutes away from her house.
"Are you waking up, sweet girl?" I ask in a whisper.
"I wasn't until you started talking, you butthead," She answers with a groan. This girl.
"I'm sorry. Go back to sleep, sweetheart."
"No, I'm already awake." She reaches over to the aux cord, plugging her phone in. A few seconds later, I hear the familiar sound of her favorite song.
I grab her hand and hold it. I love this girl. She's my best friend and the love of my life all in one. I just wish she would realize it. There's nothing I wouldn't do to see her smile.
"So when I drop you off at your house, do you want me to stay over or leave you alone?" I ask after a bit of quiet time.
"Can we go to your house again please? My parents are fighting again."
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Of course you can stay over, sweet girl."
Then we fell back into a period of silence with my hand holding hers a little more firmly now. Her parents have been on the rocks for years. That's why she started sleeping over as often as she has. She doesn't like to hear them argue. I don't mind one bit that she needs to stay over. It's my favorite thing for her to be around me. And I'm glad I'm the person she wants to be around.
About fifteen minutes from my house, I get a text.
"Hey beautiful, can you check my phone?"
"Yeah, of course. Can you remind me of your password?"
"121504."
"Wait, is that my birthday?" I nod, "Aww, you're such a cutie."
She puts in my password and checks my text before typing something back.
"Who was it?" I ask.
"Your mom. She was asking if she needed to make dinner for us. I told her she didn't need to."
"Thank you, sweet girl."
She yawned and before I knew it, she fell back to sleep. I'm not waking her up next time. Even if it means I have to carry her bag and her inside, it's fine. She needs to sleep.
Pulling into the driveway, I turn the music off and unplug her phone. I unbuckle myself and get out of the truck. I get our stuff out of the backseat before going over to her side and opening her door.
"Hey sweet girl, I'm gonna take your blanket and put it in the bag, okay?" She nods her head and I get her blanket. I unbuckle her and start picking her up with the arm not holding the bag. She stirs a little in her sleep before nuzzling into me.
I carry her upstairs to my room before gently laying her down on my bed. I walk over to my closet and pick out a hoodie and some shorts and then, I get changed.
Laying down in bed, almost as tired as her, I fall asleep quickly.

I wake up in his bed for the fourth time this week. The only difference is his muscular arms are wrapped around me and I'm on top of him, both legs on either side. I try to wiggle free, but he only squeezes harder.
"Lukey, I know I'm super cute and snuggly and stuff, but you gotta let me go," I whisper.
Oh my goodness, my face is right next to his. I hope my morning breath isn't that bad.
