Shu looked around his class. Their whispers gotten louder and louder as time passed on. He finally laid eyes on the desk next to him, Y/n is late than usual.
Although it's still early, it wasn't likely of her to be a minute or two later than her usual. He's seen this happen before but that time it was because she overslept.
"I don't have Kaneko-chan's number! Don't you have it?"
"What? No, I don't. Kaneko clearly said she doesn't have a phone."
"That is so lies! I saw her use one a few days ago."
"Maybe she has an email?"
"Oh! Or we could ask someone who's very close to her."
The chatter on the group Shu's been listening to got quiet.
Suddenly, Shu feels eyes at his direction. It was eerie.
"Yamino-kun!" A girl from the group calls out.
Dang it.
Shu turned his direction to the group with a smile. "Yes?" He asked politely yet clearly annoyed.
"We were hoping you have Kaneko-chan's number since you've been friends with her for so long. Do you have it?" Instead of the previous girl, a guy asked.
Suddenly, Shu feels all eyes on him. Do people really like Y/n that much?!
"I'm sorry, I don't have it. If you like, I can go over to her place and check up on her after school?"
When Shu said that, everyone in the class stopped moving, freezing in place. Not a single word was uttered by his classmates.
"Um.. everyone?"
The class then bursts into a sudden noise. "Yeah, you should go check on her!"
"You know where she lives?!" A classmate gasped in shock.
"Imagine getting being so close to Kaneko-san, I want to be him so bad.."
"Yeah! Yamino, let's switch bodies!"
Another joined in placing the back of his hand over to his forehead, making a frown and says: "Kaneko-sama must of gotten sick!"
Shu sighed. He's got a lot of dramatic classmates..

Shu arrived in front of the Kaneko's house. He tidied himself to be more presentable and fixed his hair before knocking on the door.
Moments later, Y/n opened it but she looked fine. There was no sign of weakness from a fever or cold, no sign of fatigue.
"Hi Shu~"
The said male raised his hand and waved a little. "Heya Y/n. I just wanted to check up on you."
Y/n's eyes widened. Check up on her? but she's only absent a day is that a big deal? Was it something important? Did something fun happened when she was gone? That wouldn't be fun!
"Come on in, I'm making something. You should stay for dinner too."
Shu raised his hands and waved. "Oh no, I was just here to check on you and-"
Y/n couldn't take no as an answer so he pulled him in and closed the door.
"Make yourself at home, we're not strangers you know?" Y/n walks off to the kitchen to finish up dinner.
Shu stood in front of the main door confused. If she's fine and well.. then who is-
"Are you my big sister's boyfriend? 'Cause there is no way in hell she call pull anyone."
"Be nice to Shu, Kyo. Also watch your language, you're thirteen!"
Kyo only replied by sticking his tongue out.
Shu turned around, Kyo was standing behind him this whole time? He looked rather angry and kind of unwell.
"Hey Kyo, it's been a long time we haven't seen each other."
Kyo coughed as he waved at Shu. Thankfully there was a safe distance between the two. "Hi." Was all he said in return.
"Now I know who's the sick one," Shu chuckled.
"Oh yeah, I don't have your number so I couldn't tell you." Y/n said. "I told Mysta so I thought he'd tell you,"
Shu gripped his bag. Why would she tell him rather than her own classmate? Wouldn't telling someone and then hoping that someone tell him be a hassle?
Y/n, you are such an idiot!
Kyo eyed Shu's body language. "Are you sure you don't like my sister?" He whispered when he got closer to him.
"Your sister is very nice. I'm sure whoever gets to have her as her lover would be very lucky," Shu smiled, looking at the direction to Kyo's.
The two sat in silence, the only noise was coming from the kitchen as metal clack with each other and Y/n humming to a song so cheerfully, lost in her own world.
"Look man, my sister is real crazy. Kind of an idiot if you catch my drift, she's really.." Kyo made a winding motion to his head using his index finger.
"Siblings say the darnest things don't they?" Y/n huffs, a frown plastered on her face.
Kyo took a moment for his brain to register that his sister was behind him, he didn't even hear her! "Wah! What the heck?! Sis, don't scare me like that!!"
Shu watched the two interact and chuckled, as the siblings argued more and more, Shu burted out laughing.
Y/n and Kyo shut their mouth and looked at Shu, he was laughing so much.
The older sibling of the Kaneko family felt blood rush to her cheeks as they are now tinted red. Never has she once heard Shu laugh so freely, so cute at that.
"O-Oh! Sorry you guys are.." Shu couldn't even form words correctly, giggling mid sentence. "You two must be so close." He wiped a strain tear on his eye.
"Y-Yeah.." Y/n replied, still blushing. Kyo notices this, cleared his throat and nudged her side. "A-Anyway! Dinner's ready and I already set the table. Come, let's eat!"
Kyo threw his hands in the air and smiled. "Yeah!" He turned to Shu who stood next to him. "Y/n's cooking is great and I'm glad you get to try it,"
Shu gave the boy a gentle smile, he had a feeling of excitement. "I'm sure it's very delicious."
And just like what he said a few minutes ago, it was indeed delicious. Shu's eager to try some more of her cooking in the future, he's low-key jealous of her brother as he gets to eat these very well cooked meals everyday, every time.
What makes his day even better is that he gets to have Y/n's number without even asking her at the end of the day! Shu's one very lucky individual today, to him he hit the mini jackpot. The winning prize is yet to be claimed by him.
