I was in the car with my mom, Steven, and Belly.
Belly's just screaming her heart out to the music.

🎵 Everytime she goes through her hair

"Can you guys turn it down a little, please?" My mom says, interrupting Belly's "amazing" singing.
"Yes, please" Steven says, acting like it's killing him to hear Belly being happy.
"Thank you, I want you to be better about helping about this summer. Like don't just leave your dishes in the sink, load them in the dishwasher. And not just your own dish either, Steven." Mom says, lecturing Steven.
I just put my head on the window, trying to block them out.

My moms weird about money.
The fact that Susannah has a lot, and we don't.

"MOMM, I'm too old for a curfew." Stevens annoying voice calls out.
"A curfew?
What about me and Belly?" I thought.
"Wait, what about me and Y/N? We don't have a curfew either right?" Belly speaks as if she was reading my thoughts.
Steven laughs, "What do you two need a curfew for? You don't go anywhere."
"Don't be a jackass Steven!" Mom says.
"Thank you." I speak up.
"What!"
"Y/N, Belly, we'll talk about it when something comes up." Mom says.
I put my head back on the window and drown them out.
I can't wait to see Jeremiah again.
His curly hair.
The ocean blue eyes.
I can feel butterflies in my stomach just thinking about him.
Everything about him is so perfect.
Laughter interrupts my thoughts, and then we suddenly stop.
I turned to my left to see where we were, and it was the gas station.
We all get out the car and walk up to the gas station.

I follow Belly and as usual she opens up the bag of regular Cheetos.
"I can't believe you only like the regulars" I say as opening a bag of hot Cheetos.
She giggles and shrugs her head "Whatever!"
We both got drinks,
then she turned to walk to the cashier.

Boys at school never look at me.
Taylor's the one they look at.

"Hey." He says.
"Hey." She says , putting down her bag of Cheetos and drink. I also do the same.
"Are you new this summer?" He says, while checking our stuff out. He's clearly trying to flirt with her, ew.
"Me? Uh no. "She laughs.
"Thought I knew every pretty girl in Cousins." He says. Oh he's definitely flirting and it's disgusting.

"Coming to the bonfire tonight? First of the season."
"Uhh maybe." Belly says.
"Come! I'll introduce you to some of my friends."
Pass.. this is so sketchy.

"Maybe I will." Belly says as she hands him her card, mom interrupting her, "After we get settled, do you girls want to go with me to Whale of a Tale so I can pre-sign stock before the signing tomorrow night"
Belly just said "Um.." out of embarrassment.
"Rememberrr.. how you and y/n used to sit on my lap when I did signings there. Y/N insisted on drawing a whale on every book I signed.
"No.. I don't remember." Belly says out of embarrassment again. I just shook my head at our mom.

The cashier hands Belly the card, then the bag but mom snatches the card out of his hands, "I'll take that, thank you. I'll make you girls a deal, I'll let you guys pick dessert tonight if you come with me and keep me company." She says while walking out and holding the door for us.

"I'll see you guys later." The cashier says.
"What's later?" Mom says curiously.
"Nothing." Belly walks out with me following her. We all hopped in the car and starting driving.

After a little bit, Steven honks, letting us know we're finally at the beach house.

We all get out of the car and Jeremiah goes to hug my mom.

Susannah walks out, hugs my mom while the boys are hugging. I stared at Jeremiah. He's grown up. He looks at me and pauses for a second. "Look who came back all grown up!"He comes up and hugs me and spins me around. "Jere! Put me down!" He puts me down then goes back to the boys. Jere and Belly hug and then I see Belly and Conrad staring at each other.

They walk up to each other.
"I liked you better with glasses." Conrad speaks up. Belly just shakes her head, "Too bad. I like me better without them." Conrad ruffles her hair.

Steven interrupts by yelling, "Hey, hey guys guys! I-I don't know about you but i..
Well I think it's time for a Belly flop."
Belly immediately screams and runs away and Conrad catches her by the waist.

Me and Conrad get her arms while Jere and Steven get her legs.

"Belly flop! Right here, right here!!"
We all said together,
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three!"

And then we threw her in the water, I giggled a bit. "How's the water?" Jere calls out. "Guys I hurt my ankle!" I then feel a pair of arms around my waist.

Butterflies were all in my stomach.

"Jeremiah if you push me I am going to pull you with me."
I felt a playful push, I immediately pull his arm with me into the pool.

I'm finally at peace.
