3rd P.O.V
Once Lee knew that children were a safe distance away with his boyfriend and Ana, his once gentle smile that never failed to calm down his distressed little sister turned into the most infuriated and intimidated scrawl anyone has ever seen the moment he turned around to face Camila Noceda.
Lee wasn't quick to anger and no one, besides his mother, has ever seen him truly angry before. When you are dating and have a younger sister who is on two different sides of the spectrum, you need to have a saint's patience to not damage their special bond by saying or doing anything wrong in their bubbles. It truly was one of his defining features and as well as one that Luz proudly picked up from her big brother, but right that kind and gentle boy was not present at the moment.
Lee marched up to Camila and glared at her with all his might as he spoke in an icy tone," What gives you the damn right to talk to Luz like that!"
Camila and the students around the area flinched at his tone as he continued," For someone claiming to be her mother, you sure make me wonder how such a child as gifted as Luz came from that thing you call a uterus."
The students let out small gasps from the comment as Camila's face flushed a deep red from embarrassment as she finally spoke and jabbed her finger straight into Lee's chest harshly," How dare you!! You have no right to lecture me on how to raise my daughter and with what I've seen these past few weeks it makes me truly wonder how much of a wonderful role model you and those twins have been on her!!!!"
She jabbed her finger harder into his chest and snarled at Lee," For years, I have been doing my absolute best to raise my daughter to be a strong, respectable, and normal girl so she could thrive in our society!! Doctors visits, speech therapy, help groups, hell even some day camps that help children with regulating her condition-"
"Condition? " Lee roars as he raises his arms in the air in anger," CONDITION!!! SHE ISN'T SOME PACTENT WITH AN ILLNESS DAMNIT!!! LUZ IS AN AMAZING, TALENTED, AND CREATIVE GIRL WHO HAS DONE THINGS THAT NO ONE HAS DONE BEFORE!!! HER AUTISM NOR HER ADHD HAS EVER HIDERED HER FROM BEING THE BEST SHE CAN AND WILL BE!!!"
Lee's anger level was slowly on the rise and he mentally told himself to calm down but that would not be the case as Camila truly showed everyone her true colors on the subject of Luz's Austim.
"WHAT ELSE WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO!?!" She screamed at Lee with fire in both her eyes and voice," AFTER MANNY DIED, I HAD NO ONE WHO COULD UNDERSTAND HER AS HE DID!! WHENEVER WE WENT TO THE PARK, THE GROCERY STORE, OR ANYWHERE IN FUCKING PUBLIC EVERYONE WOULD STARE AND GOSSIP ABOUT HOW ABNORMAL SHE IS!!!
NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TOLD HER TO TRY AND ACT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, TO TRY AND HIDE AWAY QUIRKS, OR TO BE LIKE THE OTHER KIDS! SHE COULDN'T AND EVERY SINGLE DAY I GOT CALLS FROM THE SCHOOL AND PARENTS ALIKE TELLING ME TO PUT HER IN A SPECIAL SCHOOL WITH MENTALLY DISABLED CHILDREN LIKE HER!!! THIS WASN'T HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!!!"
Lee felt his entire body numb as he looked at the mother of the sweetest little girl he's ever known, admitting that she was a mistake. All the students gathered around them and looked at the Latino women with so much disdain and fiery rage, that no one could utter a single word. So many of them were touched dearly in some way or form by Luz be it from her neverending fountain of kindness, her strong determination to always keep moving forward whenever things got tough, as well as how she could just bring so much joy into the lives of anyone she meets. Luz truly is Yale's Little Sun and to hear directly from the woman who birthed her that she was a mistake.
