As the tension thickened in the air, Yuma's eyelids fluttered, and he slowly regained consciousness. Confusion clouded his mind as he tried to make sense of the situation. Attempting to get up, Yuma realized he was unable to move, held back by fatigue. His eyes widened as he saw Ren's figure standing tall, facing the formidable Barians.
"It's fine now, Yuma." Ren's voice broke through the haze in Yuma's mind. "Don't force yourself. Leave this to me."
Yuma's gaze locked onto Ren, a mixture of concern and curiosity in his eyes. He wanted to leap into action, to stand beside his friend, but he trusted Ren's judgment. Reluctantly, he nodded, acknowledging Ren's plea to stay put.
Meanwhile, Vector looked at Ren in disdain. His cold voice dripped with contempt. "Why did you have to interfere, lover boy!? This is none of your concern!"
Ren's smirk turned into a sneer. "I apologize for the intrusion, but I can no longer stand the sight of you and your lackeys' accursed visage. I'll be taking the spotlight now."
His words echoed through the desolate battleground, reaching the ears of Dumon and Mizael, who stood alongside Vector. Surprise and annoyance flickered across their faces.
Mizael scoffed. "You think you can beat us, human? You're gravely mistaken."
Ren's eyes burned with an intensity that sent a chill down the spines of everyone watching. "Beat you? No, I plan to obliterate you." Mizael's confident smirk faded as Ren's response echoed through the air.
Yuma's friends watched the intense exchange between Ren and the Barians from the comfort of the airship, hovering high above the battleground. Kotori couldn't help but voice her concern, her voice barely above a whisper. "What's wrong with Ren? He seems... different."
Tokunosuke nodded in agreement. "It's like he's a different person altogether, or not..."
Tetsuo's mind flashed back to the time when Ryoga had claimed that Ren was manipulating all of them, stirring up doubt and suspicion. However, he quickly shook those thoughts away, refusing to let them cloud his judgment. "No," Tetsuo said firmly, his voice filled with unwavering faith. "I believe in Ren. There must be an explanation for all of this."
The airship's occupants fell into a thoughtful silence, their gazes fixed on the fierce battle unfolding below.
But amidst the tension, Ryoga sensed something unsettling in his companion's eyes. Without a moment's hesitation, Ryoga rushed toward Ren. He collided with the invisible force field separating them, his fist striking against it with a resounding thud. "Ren! Stop this!" Ryoga shouted, desperation seeping into his voice.
Ren's gaze snapped towards Ryoga, and for a fleeting second, their eyes locked. The intensity in Ren's gaze sent shivers down Ryoga's spine, for it was not the gaze of his dear friend but rather that of a stranger, consumed by a wicked cruelty that chilled him to the core.
As Ryoga's eyes widened in shock and concern, Kaito quickly grabbed him. "We can only watch now."
Struggling against Kaito's grip, Ryoga tried to comprehend the transformation he had witnessed in Ren. The usual friendly and bright expression that adorned Ren's face had been replaced by a twisted visage, unrecognizable to Ryoga. The realization struck him like a bolt of lightning, filling his heart with fear and anguish.
"First, I'll put the fear on that cocky face of yours," Vector snickered, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "Are you underestimating me? Thinking I wouldn't do anything to a weak human like you?"
Ren's amusement grew, his laughter echoing through the air. "Ah, the audacity of your delusions. Your confidence is truly impressive, considering how effortlessly I will annihilate all of you. But hey, who am I to deny you the thrill of disappointment?"
