Some Unknown Place

SK's head was throbbing. He was sitting on a chair with his left leg tied to the left front leg of the chair and his right leg tied to the right front leg of the chair using a strong rope for each leg. His hands were also similarly tied with his right hand tied to the right hand of the chair and left hand tied to the left hand of the chair, again using a strong rope for each of them.

Moreover, someone had blinded him using a blindfold and gagged him. He was supposed to be terrified but was extremely confused. Who could want anything from a person like him? He wasn't exactly from a rich family. Agreed, there was that one incident. No, SK never thought about it and wanted to do anything about it.

He was trying to retrace his steps as to how he found himself in this predicament, so he squeezed his mind and memories started to flow.

ICS, some time ago

SK was doing his assignment. It was a bit early, so the library was mostly empty except for him and the librarian.

"Hi, SK, is it?" Hope's uncle offered his hand.

"Yes. Short for Surya Kumar," He explained to Hope's uncle as he shook his hand.

Undisclosed Location, Now

That was all he could remember. After that, he found himself awake in this state. This did not make an ounce of sense.

"This is the tribrid's lover, you say?" SK heard a man's voice.

"Yes, he is" He heard a girl's voice after that.

Tribrid? What tribrid? Is that even an official word?

"Looks like our man is awake!" He heard a girl remark as the blindfolds dropped to reveal a brunette with an olive-coloured face. At the back of her were a blonde man and a raven-haired girl.

"wha.. a.. ee, phoo aa pou poepe," SK was muttering gibberish.

"Right, the gag. Let me remove that," the brunette said as she did what she had said.

"Who are you, people? What do you want with me?" SK asked.

"You know Hope, right?" The brunette girl continued asking.

Other than the man who looked like he was in his 30s, the black-haired girl and the brunette girl looked like they were nearly his age. This did not make sense. A rival college gang, maybe? But he had heard that this was not a college filled with rowdies and was actually focused on education.

"We are not from your college" The black-haired girl sighed.

SK's eyes widened. It was almost like she read his thoughts-

"Yes, I can read your thoughts" The black-haired girl sighed again.

"Is this some sort of game? Also, how do you know her nickname? And who are you? What do you want? Why?-" SK found himself interrupted.

"Enough! You talk too much!" The blonde man screamed and asked, "Why are we keeping him alive?"

"To bring Hope here. Duh!" The brunette sassed.

SK was wondering why they were calling Andrea by her nickname.

"It's not her nickname. It's her original name. You're naïve," the black-haired girl said with disdain.

SK felt deceived. Andrea, no, no, Hope was lying to him about her name. Ok, maybe she did it with a reason, but still a lot of things did not make sense. A mind-reading teenage girl, a sassy teenage girl and a middle-aged man have suddenly kidnapped him, wanting to trap her. Good Lord Shiva! Were they planning to kill Hope?
