Cheryl walked beside Toni as Toni led her back to her trailer.

"Seriously Toni, I can just stay at Veronica's or something" Cheryl said insisting.

"And wake them up? It's fine red just tell your mummy dearest your staying at Veronica's" Toni said, mockingly saying mummy dearest to which Cheryl rolled her eyes at. Cheryl took out her phone and texted her mother that she was staying at Veronica's.

"Don't mind the mess.." Toni she opened the door and walked inside, Cheryl following behind her.

Her trailer was very similar to Fangs's, it I had a small kitchen area over in the corner of the living room which just had a couch and tv, and there were two doors over to the left, which Cheryl assumed was a bedroom and bathroom.

"You hungry?" Toni asked going over to the kitchen area.

Cheryl shook head, still looking around the trailer.

"Too bad, I know you're lying." Toni said taking out bowls and turning on the stove. "Pasta sound good?"

Cheryl nodded and sat on the couch and took out her phone. She opened the messages app to text Veronica but remembered she was grounded.

Cheryl scrolled through instagram for a few minutes before Toni sat beside her on the couch and handed her a bowl of pasta.

"Thanks" Cheryl muttered trying to be polite.

"You like it?" Toni asked after a few minutes of silence between the two.

"It's not bad.. for a greaser" Cheryl said teasingly as she continued eating.

"Not bad? Okay let's see what you can make then, I'll be expecting a whole meal from you tomorrow red" Toni laughed it off.

"Do you even know what my name is?" Cheryl asked a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Cherry right?" Toni said, creasing her eyebrows in confusion at the sudden question.

"It's Cheryl" Cheryl snapped growing more annoyed. "So do you usually make pasta for girls you barely know?"

"Not really, no" Toni said shrugging her shoulders, confused as to why Cheryl was now questioning her.

"So what, you just hookup with girls and don't even remember their names?" Cheryl said raising her voice slightly.

"Pretty much yeah, that's what hookups are red. You usually don't ask a lot of questions" Toni replied blankly.

"You sound like a guy" Cheryl said shooting her a look.

They finished eating in silence before Toni took the bowls over to the sink and washed them.

"I'll stay on the couch tonight, you can have my bed" Toni said taking a blanket out from under the couch, she usually kept one there for when one of her friends needed a place to crash after a fight with their parents or if they were drunk.

Toni tossed Cheryl a pair of red shorts and a black slightly cropped jumper. "Looks like something you'd wear" Toni said as she began clearing off som clothes from the bed.

"Can you turn around while I change?" Cheryl asked after she noticed Toni hadn't left the room.

"Don't flatter yourself, I'm not paying that much attention red, and calm down its nothing I haven't seen before" Toni smirked, sending her a wink after the last sentence. Cheryl rolled her eyes pulling down her jeans, leaving her in a red laced thong.

"Damn" Toni said out loud, forgetting what a perfect figure Cheryl had.

"Seriously" Cheryl said throwing a pillow at her while rolling her eyes. She got changed quickly and Toni finished clearing all the junk off her bed.

"Night red" Toni said as she's turned off the light and left the room.

Cheryl sighed to herself. It was just one careless night. She just wanted one hookup, no strings attached. So why was she in this girls bed now??

———

Cheryl woke up to the cold breeze hitting her exposed skin. She looked around the room, confused as to where she was until she saw a serpent jacket hanging from the back of the door. She was in Toni's room.

She could smell food coming from the kitchen so she got up and went into the bathroom to fix herself. She fixed her hair in the mirror and washed her face, waking herself up from the cold water splashing onto her face.

She walked into the kitchen to see Toni with a pan over the stove, flipping pancakes in the air, a speaker playing as she sung along quietly to the song.

Now it's three in the mornin' and I'm tryin' to change your mind
Left you multiple missed calls and to my message you reply
"Why'd you only call me when you're high?"
"Hi, why'd you only call me when you're high?"

Toni was actually a good singer, much better than Cheryl. She clearly knew the song and her voice matched perfectly to the tune.

"Morning" Cheryl said after realising she'd been standing there for quite some time without making Toni aware she was there.

"Morning red" Toni said as she spun around to face her. Toni grabbed a two plates and divided the pancakes evenly between them, pouring blossom maple syrup over them.

She lowered the volume on the speaker so it was just background noise as they started eating the pancakes.

"What song were you listening to?" Cheryl asked after a few moments of silence. She felt bad after getting mad at Toni the previous night, after all who was she to judge her, she didn't plan on having to see Toni again after their hookup either.

"It's by artic monkeys, you heard of them?"

"Nope not really" Cheryl said as Toni gasped dramatically.

"Well they're only my favourite band ever! You will know of them soon I assure you red" Toni said. Cheryl tried to hide her smile at how passionate Toni seemed to be about them.

"Tell me about them" Cheryl said and she listened intentively as Toni spoke about them, clearly showing she was a huge fan of them. She told her about how she went to their concert a few years ago with fangs and Sweetpea. Cheryl smiled listening to her talk about something so passionately.

Cheryl was always told serpents were deviant, selfish people who had no worth in society, but now Cheryl was beginning to realise maybe her mother was wrong about them. Toni didn't seem selfish, she had offered Cheryl to stay over and had cooked for her. She definitely cared for her friends too and wasn't acting selfish towards Cheryl.

Cheryl felt bad for the ways she had treated the serpents because of stereotypes and rumours. All her life she wanted to fit into her supposive role at riverdale, but maybe she didn't have to be someone she wasn't anymore, maybe she didn't have to act a certain way and do certain things just because her parents wanted her too...

Cheryl wanted more than anything to be able to be herself without having to worry about what people thought, but that would always be in the back of her mind, she'd always be worrying about what people would be thinking and saying about her...

"You okay red?" Toni asked, snapping Cheryl out of her thoughts.

"I'm fine" Cheryl said and with a blink and a fake smile, all her thoughts were buried deep down inside her to worry about later. She'd mastered the skill of hiding her feelings at this point...
