This is Reader X Bonely hearts clubs' version of Swapfell Sans named Nox.

Birds were singing, flowers were blooming. Days like these were the perfect days to try out the new coffee maker Pappy got him for Giftmas.

Rus, Nox tried to correct his sleepy brain, with little success before the coffee was done. Getting used to a new peaceful life, in a new peaceful universe world. Was slow going at first, but was getting easier. He glanced out the open kitchen window at the noise that had pulled him out of bed. Papyrus , the prime Papyrus, and Blue, the softer version of himself, had coaxed his shy, reserved brother out into the front yard and had spent the morning trying to get him to contribute to a game of catch. Getting him outside being a miracle on its own, they hadn't managed to get him to play. However, whether they noticed or not there was a small shy smile beginning to tug at the corners of his mouth and he was talking a bit more animatedly as the other two played. It made Nox's trouble adjusting bearable, worth it even. He could turn his back to the window, make his coffee, and not worry about...The loud sound of breaking glass he just heard.

"O-oh man...T-thats s-so not good." Rus stuttered out loud enough to be heard. Nox left his coffee sitting on the counter to go outside.

"What happened now?" He asked as soon as he rounded the house.

"Bro, ummm t-the ball...ummm." Rus started glancing nervously at the neighbors house, the one who seemed to fawn over Boss every time she came over.

"I was about to go over. I threw the ball, so it's just the right thing to do." Papyrus said, smiling cheerfully. But, hearing something like that come from someone who looks so much like his brother. Nox couldn't help feeling protective of the other papyruses in the house.

"Don't worry about it. I'm already here, I'll take care of it." Nox replied, waving papyrus off, "just be more careful next time."

It's not like the small excitable girl next door was at all threatening. Nox thought knocking on the door. Except you answered, forcing him to look up, shoving the ball into his chest. He had been expecting his shorter neighbor, but you stood eye level with him, forcing him to correct and adapt quickly.

Though didn't she say she lived with her sibling? He wondered.

"I'm guessing this is yours?" You asked, not looking at him.

Shaking off the surprise he cleared his throat to cover up any pause.

"Yes, I am very sorry about that. The ball got away from me. I'll pay for any damages."

You reached behind the door and Nox flinched his body already ready for an altercation, but what you pulled out wasn't a weapon, but a dustpan full of...the remains of a broken coffee pot, which you dump in a waist bin on the porch.

"Window was open you can get one of these for about 25 bucks, now if you'll excuse me," you reach behind the door again, pulling out a sleek black cane, making Nox nervous except you walked past him shutting the door behind you. "I have to go out for coffee."

"I- I have a pot on at the house, I had just started it." Nox replied walking to catch up to you, you turn your head when you respond to him,

"...you just put on coffee then went out to play baseball?" You ask incredulously. Nox felt like cursing under his breath, stupid mistake really. You keep talking though.

"Sure, you owe me at least a cup anyway."

He watched as you tapped the cane in front of you. He wasn't as sharp without caffeine in his system, he wasn't stupid either and put two and two together quickly. You were just a little more awake it seemed, while trying to think of a natural way to start a conversation, you beat him to it.
