The next morning, I woke up and went into the kitchen to make coffee, to see Cami and my Dad sitting at the counter drinking coffee and talking.

"You remember that one time you spent the night and the two of you decided to sneak outside at like 12 in the morning and jump on the trampoline. Bethany almost had a heart attack when she heard the door open! I grabbed a hair brush! A hair brush was gonna be my weapon, good thing it was just you two. Bethany told me if she didn't love me to death then she might've just left me for that move right there."

Neither had noticed I was standing in the doorway yet, so I just stood there listening.

My Dad laughed.

"Oh yes, I remember it very well. I was half asleep when Zane woke me up and told me he had a brilliant idea. Go out on the trampoline. I thought eh why not. But when we heard your footsteps coming down the stairs we freaked out. Zane thought it was a robber and almost peed himself, I knew it wasn't and I myself got scared because I thought Beth would kick me out never to come back again!"

They both laughed.

"Of course not! Bethany loved you like her own child and so did I, I still do. Sometimes I think she loved you more than Zane. Don't tell him I said that he'll be upset."

Cami laughed.

"Actually she told me once that if she had to take a side she'd take mine. She said though she loved her son more than anything, sometimes he didn't think and caused pain. She wasn't wrong..."

My Dad patted her back.

"Cami, I'm not exactly sure what happened with the two of you but what I do know is that boy still loves you never stopped. And I get the feeling you do too."

Cami stared out the window.

"You think?"

My Dad laughed.

"Of course never stopped even when his heart was broken he still loved you deep down."

My Dad smiled at her and then turned to walk out.

He saw me but winked and walked out.

My Dad may not know boundaries but I did have to give it to him he understood what I needed when I needed it.

I walked into the kitchen.

"Morning Cami."

Cami jumped a little in shock.

"Oh morning Zane."

After having coffee and showering and changing, we left for the store.

Once we got there we were greeted by Mrs. Patty.

"Well hello there, OH MY! Well if it isn't Miss. New York and Mr. Biker!"

"Oh Mrs. Patty! I've missed your face!"

Cami and Mrs. Patty hugged for quite some time before departing and then Cami was off to explore the clothes.

I stood closer to the entrance.

Mrs. Patty came back to the register, and gave me a stern look.

"Now boy, you two ain't no teenageres anymore do that girl right. Don't go be Mr. Tough ladies don't want that what they want is someone who they can trust to tell them their every emotion. That lady back there is a one of a kind girl and if you mess it up again. Well then I'll have to come knock some sense into ya. And you know your Mama would say the same thing. Bless her soul."
