Will was getting into the driver's seat of his little, light blue car with the broken ventilation, which he had just bought a few days ago. He had gotten his driver's license a few weeks prior. Now, Will was on his way to meet his boyfriend, and really, it was exciting. He remembered the exact expression on Mike's face when he had shown him his papers. A mixture of pride and excitement, but also a sort of disappointment.

The two of them were only a month apart, and Will was actually the older one, but Mike had already gotten his license last year, while he had failed the test the first two times. So since the two of them lived an hour ride away from each other, it had sort of become a tradition for Mike to drive to his house every weekend, pick him up, and drive the two of them wherever they wanted to go. With Will having his license now, this tradition, at least in Mike's eyes, was over now. Like an era coming to an end. It was all a little dramatic but, well, that was Mike for you.

Will started his engine, hands slightly sweaty against the steering wheel. He turned in his seat, looked back at the road. Completely empty. If there was one thing he hated about driving, it was getting out of the garage. With on deep, calming breast he put the car in revers and slowly parked out of the garage. He held his breath the entire time until all of the car was out of the garage and his wheel hit the street.

His radio played some random song as he drove down the empty streets. Soft rain started down onto his windshield, and maybe it should ruin his mood, but he was way to excited to pick Mike up. Nothing and no one could bring his mood down today. Well, that's what he thought at least.

The white, clean house in which Mike and his family lived came into view, a stark contrast against the graying skies. Will's smile grew bigger with each second that he got closer until he finally stopped his car, right in front of the driveway. For a moment he considered to hunk his car's horn to get Mike's attention, but really, he didn't want to wait any longer to finally see his boyfriend. He stopped the engine and moved to open the door, when he suddenly stopped in the middle of his movement. From the corner of his eyes, he had caught a glimpse of something that made his heart drop.

Through the big window, that showed the living room, he saw Mike, not alone but with a blond haired girl, seemingly kissing each other. Will heart sank, his world seemed to stop as the only thing he could make out was his wrecked breathing. Heavy rain poured from the sky, now a dark blanket covering the world. Deep rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance, people running past the car to get into the safety of their homes. A kid had jumped into a puddle right next to Will's window, the water splattering the glass. Surprised, Will blinked a few times, finally looking away from the window. As quickly as he could, he started the engine again, pressing onto the gas pedal. He wanted to get away as quickly as he could, it didn't matter where he went as long as he was anywhere but here.

In Will's head, he replayed the words his friends had said to him when he had first told them about Mike.

"I don't trust him,"

"Be careful. Don't let him hurt you."

"He will break your heart..."

He had denied each of their comments. To him, Mike had been the sweetest, most perfect person in the whole world. He had been there for him, told him exactly what he needed to hear, and was overall just what Will had always dreamed of. How easily words could deceive one.
