Ai POV

Silence.

I wonder... Is this the afterlife? It feels oddly quiet..

I slowly open my eyes and realize I'm not in the afterlife, but in a hospital room? I survived? I'm alive?
Huh. I sat up and looked around the room. No one's here. Should I call for a doctor?

"Hello?" I whispered. I could've said it louder, but I had no voice to say much. It looked like it was sunset, the yellow-orange colors lighting up the entire room.

I look to my side and.. oh. There's a button beside my bed. Does this call a doctor or? Hmm.. what if I..

Beep!

Oh wait, that IS the button that calls a doctor!

No POV

A few seconds pass, and the
doctors enter her room, happy that she woke up. The commotion settled down and someone wh0o seemed to be the head doctor, decided to speak.

"Ah. I see you finally woke up, Ms. Hoshino." He smiled. He looked at her current state, and added further. "Ms. Hoshino, you're really lucky for surviving this. The two children who called were really brave for calling authorities." Two children? Do they mean Ruby and Aqua? Ai asked herself. She tried speaking up, but before she could say anything, the doctor hands her a pen and paper.

"It's better if you write your thoughts down for now. Your throat is going to hurt for the time being, m'kay?" The doctor smiled. She nodded and started jotting down on the paper.

'Could you call the two kids over? Their names are Ruby and Aqua. Thanks! ^^'

She handed the paper to the doctor with a smile. Not like the smile she used as an idol, but a genuine one. The doctor smiled back and replied with a nod.

"Hm. I see. I'll call their guardian right away to visit."
The doctor nodded. A few minutes pass, and a few tests to make sure she was doing good, they all left. But the head doctor stayed to keep her company.

"The two kids are coming soon." He smiled. She grabbed a different paper and started writing again.

'Thats great!! ^^'

She handed the paper and the doctor smiled.
"I see you're excited?" He chuckled as she nodded.

(Time Skip? Yeah, time Skip!!)

A few minutes passed, and the head doctor left the room. There was a knock on the door, and the twins ran into the room.

"MAMA!" They both ran up to her bed and hugged her with tears in their eyes.

'Wait... Did Aqua just call me MAMA??' Ai asked herself. Nonetheless, she hugged them back with her genuine smile.

"Haha.... I'm sorry you two have to see me like this..." She chuckled, ignoring the doctor's order to not speak.

"Don't be!" Ruby yelled, hugging her tighter. She felt someone tug on her sleeve and saw Aqua, tears in his eyes.

"Mama... Don't scare us like that!" he cried. Ai teared up from hearing aqua call her 'mama'. She gave a weak smile.

"I won't Aqua, Ruby. Just remember."

"I love you both very much"

She smiled as she hugged them tighter.
