Aurora stepped out of her room, wearing nothing underneath her large shirt. It was warm and Lucifer had given it to her. She laughed it off that she wasn't going to wear it but then one stern look was enough to have her wear it.
She was headed towards the study. Lucifer said Joseph would be there doing business. She wanted to apologize for what happened which was a first in her entire life. She'd never been one to ask for forgiveness. She was brought up to be the independent strong woman she was.
It just wasn't for a long time because they caught up too fast.
She shook the bad memories away and lightly knocked on the large oak door with intricate carvings. Every door in the mansion had it. Everything about the Maranzano was complicated.
A deep come in was heard. She licked her lips nervously. Lucifer did make her nervous sometimes but then Joseph was cold, and that made her even more nervous.
She pushed the door and stood surprised at the walls covered in books. It was heaven on earth. She had never seen such a library inside an office. She was used to a few books staked away but this was a personal library. She loved writing but the thought of leaving behind all her works made her smile drop. She loved the art of creating, adding bits of reality and becoming different people whilst sitting at a spot.
" Aurora, sit." Joseph took off his reading glasses, setting it away and concentrating on Aurora. He loved the way she looked at the books, how her eyes sparkled. Only an avid reader and writer would be fascinated by all of this. He just knew.
" Oh, I got distracted, you have a really nice study," Aurora's neck twisted to different directions before settling on the man.
" Which do you love?" Joseph gestured to the books surrounding him.
Aurora gave him a soft smile, " A reader is a writer, a writer is a reader."
" I read but I don't write."
" But you can see the images right out of a book, you're a writer." She loved talking of books and to find out that she had found a partner in crime in the form of Joseph only made her happier.
" You write, I guess." She nodded.
" An amateur," she quickly added. She was so insecure of her works. Were they too cringey?, Too predictable?.
" I see," Joseph smirked discreetly.
" You're a very intelligent woman, Aurora, I highly doubt you'd be just an amateur."
" Is that a compliment?" She smirked.
" Take it as wanted." She just knew he wasn't going to accept it.
" So," he straightened, looking into her eyes.
" What brought you here?"
" To apologize for what happened downstairs, I overstepped my boundaries," she said quietly.
" I think I need to record this, a memory worth keeping." He said sarcastically.
Aurora rolled her eyes, " You could just fuck off."
He leaned back into his swivel chair facing his right, he turned his head towards her. Joseph was begining to agree with Lucifer, maybe they did need to try new things. Their routine, sex life, everything had been the same.
" Come here, Aurora." He ordered. Aurora giddily got up.
" Don't get too excited." He warned.
" Never too excited." She stopped infront of him, fiddling with her fingers.
