It was my first day actually working here and I was already not enjoying it. There were thousands of people it seemed like, and in the abandoned skating rink were a few teenagers smoking. "Disgusting.." I mumbled, plugging my nose to avoid smelling the stench.
I already knew where the main rooms I needed were, and along the way I found some other interesting things like a plush stand. Eventually I made it to the daycare and there were already a bunch of kids waiting to enter while their parents tried to consule their high amounts for energy. "Sorry for the trouble, hope I'm not late" I announced before opening the doors for the kids to run inside. A few parents stopped by to say hi to me asking if i was new while others tended to just walk off probably going to do anything else rather than worry about their gremlins.
"HELLOOOOO kids! How has everyone been?! Oh I've missed you all so much!" The animaltronic that was themed as the sun started gathering all the kids with his childlike behavior. Honestly I can't help but feel childlike aswell with the amount of colorful themes around this place.
Now that I think about it, Sun seemed to always be alone on the weekends. Other than the few employees who come to check on the daycare once a day, he seems to have no one else but moon to talk to. I don't even think moons kind to him if I'm honest.
"So! What would you all like to do? Googly eyes? Games? Puppets?" Sun questioned the kids. "What about coloring first?" I asked shyly, trying not to seem as if I was trying to steal the spotlight. "What a great idea! I'm so glad you came to join us ####!" Sun exclaimed as he herded the children to a large table with colored paper, art supplies, and other things that could be used like rhinestones.
I sat down at the desk on the oppisite side of the daycare than we came in and did some files while I watched the kids color. About 20 minutes or so passed until I felt a small hand attempt to tap my shoulder but mostly getting my upper back. "Why hello little girl, why aren't you with Sun?" I asked as I slowly spun the chair around to face her. "I wanted to shoe you my drawling! Sun says it looks great but I think he's just being nice.." the child said as she looked down. "Well why don't I be the judge of that darling?" I protested as I reached my hand out.
She put the drawling in my hand as she looked at me seemingly hoping for a good reaction. Though it wasn't the best, it truly looked good despite her young age. The colors really popped off the page against the lighting of the room as I handed it back to her. "It's looks great sweetheart, why would you ever doubt Sun's great eye for beauty! You have an amazing talent for your age!" I praised. She smiled at me and thanked me as she ran off back to the others. I got a small smile from Sun as he continued to work with the children.
Soon all the children were growing restless and wanted to let out some energy so Sun offered a game of tag. All the kids were running off as Sun seemed to of covered his eyes to count. He was facing the door, most likely to be able to stop any kids from trying to run out while he was distracted. I was caught up in my work until the child from earlier came running up to me and grabbing my hand. "Cmon! Let's hide together!" She whispered as I followed along due to my inner child screaming with joy. It's been a long time since I've played a game like this, other than the attack from last night.
Me and the little girl decided to hide in the tube on the highest level of the second platform while we tried to hold in our giggles. Even though I'm 22, I still love playing like a child for some reason. Must be because of the maturity I had to fake because of the other kids in my family growing up so fast. Although not in a good way like I did. I never was allowed in on the things they did and I am honestly glad. Thank God they didn't ruin me.
"20! Ready or not here I come!" I heard as the girl grabbed on to me. We stayed like that for a bit until we heard something coming up the tube. "Hello!!! Ready to meet your doom?" Sun said as he attempted to tag us. I grabbed the girl out of the way and we both made our way up the tube. Despite my age I'm pretty short, being 5,4 compared to the 7 foot robot chasing us.
