The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a silvery glow upon the Butterfly Mansion as Tanjiro, burdened by the weight of his secret, made his way towards the exit. Each step felt heavier than the last, the inner turmoil threatening to consume him entirely. He knew that leaving the safety of the mansion was a risk, but he believed it was necessary to confront the sinister voice that had offered him a malevolent bargain.
However, just as he reached the entrance, a familiar figure blocked his path. It was Giyuu Tomioka, a fellow Demon Slayer and a comrade he had fought alongside in numerous battles. Giyuu's piercing gaze met Tanjiro's troubled eyes, and he questioned with genuine concern, "Tanjiro, why are you leaving? What's going on?"
Silence hung in the air as Tanjiro hesitated, his heart torn between the desire to protect his friends and the need to face his demons alone. He knew that revealing the truth might put them in danger, but the pain of leaving them behind ate at his soul. Pushing past Giyuu, Tanjiro replied with a strained voice, "It's... It's none of your business, Giyuu. I have to do this."
Giyuu's brows furrowed, his concern turning to frustration. He swiftly grabbed Tanjiro's arm, preventing him from moving any further. "None of my business?" Giyuu's voice trembled with a mix of anger and worry. "We are your friends, Tanjiro. We fought together, laughed together, and bled together. You think you can just push us away and hide your pain? We deserve to know what you're going through."
Tanjiro's eyes flickered, the reflection of his inner struggle visible. But something about his appearance caught Giyuu's attention. Tanjiro's once warm complexion had turned ashen, and his eyes held an eerie crimson glow reminiscent of a demon's. Shocked, Giyuu loosened his grip and took a step back, his voice filled with concern. "Tanjiro... What has happened to you? What are you hiding this from us?"
As the truth threatened to spill forth, Tanjiro's eyes brimmed with tears. He fell to the ground, overwhelmed by the weight of his secrets and the pain of his transformation. "I didn't want to burden any of you," he whispered, his voice laced with a mixture of sorrow and regret. "I thought by facing this alone, I could protect you all. But the darkness within me is consuming everything, including my soul."
Giyuu's anger faded, replaced by a profound sense of compassion. He knelt down beside Tanjiro, placing a gentle hand on his trembling shoulder. "Tanjiro, we are your family. Your friends. We're here to share your burdens, to support you through the darkest of times. You don't have to face this alone."
Tears streamed down Tanjiro's face as he met Giyuu's unwavering gaze. "I didn't want to lose any of you. I didn't want you to see me like this," he choked out, his voice quivering with vulnerability.
Giyuu's grip tightened, his voice filled with determination. "Tanjiro, we're not going anywhere. We'll face this together, no matter how difficult it may be. You're not alone in this struggle. We'll find a way to save you from this darkness, but you have to let us in."
