(Knock on the door)

(Mirabelle opens the door)

Mirabelle: Finnigan?

Finnigan: May I come in?

(Mirabelle steps aside)

(Finnigan enters)

(Mirabelle closes the door)

Finnigan: Your father told me what happened to you 3 years ago.

Mirabelle: (Shocked) He did?!

(Finnigan nods)

(Short pause)

(Mirabelle starts to cry)

Finnigan: I'm so sorry Mirabelle.

Mirabelle: (Sobs) He shouldn't have told you.

Finnigan: Mirabelle—

Mirabelle: No. He shouldn't have said anything. Why did he?

Finnigan: I asked him to tell me.

(Pause)

Miabelle: You what?!

Finnigan: You wouldn't tell me and I needed to know what happened to you. I just had no idea that it was that.

Mirabelle: (Sniffs) Well now you do. Happy?

Finnigan: Honestly, I'm not. I should've waited when you were ready to talk about it. But instead, my impatience got the better of me. I'm so sorry Mirabelle. I will never do anything like that to you ever again. I promise.

(Mirabelle continues to cry)

(Finnigan hugs her)

Finnigan: If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here. I'll listen.

Mirabelle: (Sniffs) Thank you. But right now, I would like to be alone for a bit.

Finnigan: Sure. I got to get back to my office anyway. But I just wanted you to know, that I'm here for you. Always.

(They smile at each other)

(Finnigan leaves the room)

Narrator: Oh my mermaids. That is so beautiful. I think I'll cry. Finnigan has truly changed. We'll see what happens between Finnigan and Mirabelle in the next chapter.
