At the heart of Florence, the capital of this empire, lies the Raiyus Duchy. A powerful and beautifully wealthy family they are, owning at least a fourth of the main businesses scattered throughout the Arlay Empire, and being a shareholder of almost half.
They are influential, pristine, and grand. Loyal to the empire, fair to their subjects, and respected for generations, leading all the way up to the crowing of the first Arlay Emperor.
Except, there is a smear. A certain stain on their title. This stain is Leondra Raiyus, the villainess in the book: Her Royal Love.
It is a cheesy, cliché, and overdone story. The lost daughter of a noble is found, she is beautiful, she becomes loved. Then an evil, jealous woman tries to sabotage her. The evil, jealous woman is killed by all those who love the female lead, and then the female lead lives happily ever after with the powerful and devoted man she chooses, who just so happened to be the villainess' fiancé.
And because I am a woman fresh out of university with nothing to do while waiting for interviews—and without a relationship since high school—I eat these stories up every time.
So then how, and why, is the evil woman of the Raiyus Duchy standing in the mirror?
