Valt Aoi & Shu Kurenai: (Book 5/ Epilogue) The Last Legacy

Ep 4: The Pursuit! Part 1

The next morning after waking up early and immediately telling Shu about his dream and discussing it, the duo decided to make their way back to New York where a large gathering of dark power was including a blader that spiked both interests.

And with the WBBA sending in representatives in the form of experienced bladers with the dark power they would keep an eye on bladers, underground rings, and help those who couldn't control their power which had earned the duo a small break from being basically the blading world's police officers.

Easily getting through TSA at the airport along with catching several connecting flights, the duo was now on their way back to New York in better spirits discussing things to do on their vacation.

A tropical island was where they were headed, an all expenses paid trip to the Four Seasons Hotels and Resort with luxurious beaches, pools, and plenty of opportunities to relax and do all of the fun activities Valt wanted to do. Spending time together, relaxing and just taking a break from everything was just what they needed.

But for right now they had a day to kill as they landed in New York late at night before they were to meet up with the dark blader.

The next morning after getting a much better night's rest the duo immediately got up and headed to the Empire State building. Taking in the sights meanwhile tracking the dark blader along the way.

"The energy... it keeps shifting..." Shu commented, messing with the tracker Taiga had given them. It was a small black box with a handle and an anntennae sticking out at the top showing three red blinking dots. Before heading out on their journey Taiga had understood using their blading energy was draining when tracking an unruly blader. Luckily last night they had gotten luck with Diago but the tracker itself wasn't always accurate.

"It's almost as if the energy doesn't want to be found....and this thing keeps picking up on two other faint signatures coming near us...I'm starting to think this thing is broken." Shu muttered unscrewing.

"Here... maybe we should take a break Shu, let me talk to Valtryek or maybe Spryzen knows something we don't..."

"You're right...I don't know why this thing is acting weird...it wasn't acting weird before with Diago or Xander..." Shu trailed off taking out another screw

This time the large dot winked off showing three faint dots, one a bit larger than the others.

"Valtryek got nothing." Valt said disappointed looking down at his bey.

"It's okay we'll be seeing him tonight anyways but what I don't understand is what are these other two dots...they're too faint to be struggling with their dark power...I mean one is bigger than the other..."

Just then the panel fell off and the screen winked off, black, dropping the batteries into the street.

Shu gripped his hand straightening back up, "It's fine anyways we'll just grab some more from my office." He said walking into the Empire State building.

Valt trailed behind as many of the bladers who were training looked up from what they were doing to greet Shu as he walked upstairs.

Valt smiled at the scene of Shu shaking hands, signing papers, and giving advice. It was nice seeing him being appreciated.

Valt couldn't help but break into a smile as he observed the scene unfolding before his eyes. Standing at the top of the stairs was Shu, a beacon of wisdom and inspiration engaging in the crowd of bladers surrounding his figure.

His hands danced with purpose, confidently shaking hands, meticulously signing papers, and offering advice. The genuine appreciation radiated from the bladers he interacted with warmed Valt's heart.
