Valt couldn't sleep that night, no matter how many times he tossed and turned all he could think about were those headlines: Theodore Glass Dead.
Valt couldn't sleep that night, no matter how many times he tossed and turned his thoughts overwhelmed him, each one echoing the headlines that had shaken his world: "Theodore Glass Dead." Those three words swirled in his head reflecting the weight of the recent events that hung heavily on his shoulders.
Finally he couldn't take it anymore, he quietly slipped out of bed and made his way to the rooftop, seeking solace in the landscape below.
The rooftop offered peace and a sanctuary away from the chaos below, where he could be above the action, only a bystander, a background character disappearing into the scene. The cool breeze greeted him, gently rusting his hair as he stood near the edge, overlooking the sprawling cityscape. In that moment, he felt both small and significant, a figure amidst the bustling action beneath him.
In the quiet solitude of the rooftop, Valt took out Valtryek carefully cardling the bey in his hand. The ancient creature, a majestic night frozen in the height of its eternal power, seemed to emanate a sense of wisdom and unwavering strength as Valt gazed into its endless eyes.
"Valtryek, so much has been happening lately," Valt began, his voice a mixture of weariness and exhaustion. "Hyde is dead and now Theodore...it's hard to believe they're just gone...."
"Theodore was a bad guy but, I can't help but feel some small part of him was sorry for everything and maybe he did deserve it but...." Valt trailed off unsure where he was going.
"It's just their loss still feels so raw and achingly real," Valt's voice quivered as he spoke, the idea of them being dead was still hurt. "But I can't help but think Theodore saw something in me or at least I want to believe that."
Valt looked up from his bey, gazing into the distant horizon, and allowed his thoughts to drift back to the times he'd spent with Theodore. The mentoring in the World Championships two years ago, the training, the occasional battle he'd have with him. Yes Theodore had done alot of bad and Valt wouldn't ever forgive him for everything but he couldn't help but allow himself to think that Theodore perhaps cared.
While Valt acknowledged Theodore's intentions in wanting to just use his potential for his plans and power Valt couldn't escape the lingering feeling that there was more to it, a genuine care that resonated within the depths of his being.
"But in the end," Valt's voice grew softer, a tinge of sadness lingering in his words, "regardless of his true motives, it doesn't change the fact that Theodore wanted us to get stronger."
"But then there's Hyde...he wasn't bad but good and maybe a lot of people saw him as bad like Theodore but I don't think he deserved it either...I don't know what Clio or Kyle are going to do without him..."
Valt looked back out at the horizon again before looking back down
"I never imagined our journey would be like this, Valtryek. It's hard to believe this all started with us just being a couple of kids who loved Beyblade, and how we're caught up in this whirlwind of dark power, secrets and bladers who can't control it. It's a lot."
As Valt spoke, memories flashed through his mind—the battles they fought, the friendships they forged, and the challenges they overcame. He couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility weighing on him.
"And then there's Diago... Shu and I, we watched him succumb to the darkness. I never thought someone like Diago, someone caring and friendly could become a dark blader. It's just hard to accept seeing someone you trust and admire go through something like that."
