September first came way to fast for Jean and Micheal, they did not want to let their child go, in fear that he would return, also who would be joining her this year also in their first year at Hogwarts. Draco Lucius Malfoy and Harry Potter, the boy who lived. They were also afraid of the possibility that anyone could recognize them. Sure everyone thought they were dead but that doesn't mean that they couldn't be recognized.
For Hermione, the day couldn't come fast enough. She didn't sleep the night before and was still shocked by the things that she saw at Diagon Alley. She wanted to go back and just try to understand how things worked, she knew things were magical but she wanted to understand where the magic came from and how it worked, but not even her parents knew that. She had already started reading the text books for a level one student so she would understand the work that would be given to them on the first day of school.
Going through the book of spells and the book of potions, she began to read Hogwarts: A History, and reading the first few pages she was more than ready to go to Hogwarts, especially reading about the founders and getting a better understanding of the houses.
At Kings Cross Station she noticed the people who were in different clothing like the people she saw in Diagon Alley. She noticed a family with wild red flaming hair, there was about eight people there and then they went through a wall and they were gone. Hermione shook her head people couldn't go through walls, she was just imagining things. At least she thought until her parents stopped next to the same wall. “ Why did we stop?” She asked.
“Honey, look at your ticket.” her mom said. Hermione looked down at the ticket she was holding and looked back up at her parents. “Platform nine and three-quarters? How does that work?”
“ Its magic hon, you can't have an understanding of how everything works. But the location makes sense, no?” Her father asked.
Hermione looked around, her father had a point, she was closer to platform ten rather than nine, “Your right, but how are we going to get on the train?” “ Were going to go through the wall.” her mother said and slightly pushed her into the wall. Her mother and her father went through the wall with her and was shocked to see all of the people who were there on the other side of the wall. She was mesmerized by the scarlet train and all of its glory.
The longer she stood there, she began to get scared. What if she didn't make friends here like she didn't at her other school? What if people made fun of her? What if no one liked her? Her parents noticed the growing worry on their daughter's face and promised her that everything would be okay and she would make friends in no time at all. Her parents concern was that she would make friends with the wrong people and all of their efforts to protect their daughter would be wasted, but their daughter knew better and would make the best decision.
“Hermione honey, please remember dispite what happens at Hogwarts, you must not let anyone figure out who you really are, a pureblood witch from a powerful family. While you are at hogwarts you will hear many things and make life long friends, but don't forget about your studies. Those are important too. You will also meet a few people there who will make fun of you for being a “muggleborn” which is what you will be pretending to be, because your mother and I 'can't' do magic. So they might be mean to you for that, a type of racism I suppose but just remember that you are not what they say you are. Sticks and stones love, it helps. Just blow them off and if it gets really bad go find Dumbledore, he will help. I know that you will have a great year.” Her father said and pulled her into a hug. Her mother also gave her a hug and was in tears, mumbling something about her baby girl being grown up.
Finally Hermione said good-bye to her family, and boarded the scarlet train. Her life was never the same after that moment in her life.
