"Alright, come on," Wally mumbled. "Almost there."

Wally gave Barnaby's leg one final shove, which completed the task of getting Barnaby into his bed. Barnaby had fallen asleep the second he flopped into bed, but he had flopped with his legs and arms dangling off the side of the mattress, so Wally was making the extra effort to ensure his comfort. Once Barnaby looked to be in a comfortable position, he then pulled the blankets over Barnaby's still figure and sighed.

"Goodnight, Barnaby," he said quietly before exiting Barnaby's bedroom. Wally closed the door quietly, even though Barnaby probably would not wake up to even a bomb strike at this point.

Wally walked back to the front door, where you stood waiting with your arms crossed. You smiled when you saw Wally returning, and that filled Wally with glee.

You look so dashing right now. You had looked delicious all night; it was all Wally could do to not kiss you at every moment. He assumed you would not like that, however — it was clear that you were not as infatuated with him as he was with you. But that was understandable, for he knew that he was very quick to get obsessed, and he was patient enough to know that one day, you would return all of his feelings.

"Ready to go home now, my love?" Wally asked, staring at your delicious eyes.

You nodded.

Thus, the two of you left Barnaby's house and began the walk back to your house. The night air was cold and dark, the moon and millions of stars glistening from above.

Wally was thankful for every step he took with you at his side. At some point, he reached over and took your hand in his.

"So," you said, filling the silence with the sweet sound of your voice, which was slightly slurred, "what did you say to George right before we left?"

Wally did not respond immediately. He thought back to his interaction with George, frustration making his cheeks flush just at the thought. He debated what details he should tell you to adequately summarize the conversation.

After the board game was finished, Wally looked up and saw George standing alone a little ways away, watching you.

Wally frowned. He was not stupid, for he knew that George probably knew your name because he knew who you were, even though Wally had said otherwise to try and reassure you. He knew that George was probably just waiting for the right moment to strike.

So, Wally left the crowd and walked right up to George with a friendly grin painted over his face. "How are you doing over here, new neighbor?" Wally asked once he was in front of George.

George's eyes flicked away from you in the distance and aimed at Wally. "I'm doing well, thank you. I'm a touch sleepy so I reckon I'll be leaving soon."

"That's a good idea."

George nodded slowly. He appeared thoughtful. "Hey, how long did you say that person has been in town? The one that I met with you earlier, I can't remember their name."

"They've been here for about a month, I believe," Wally replied. "Their name is Charlie."

George stared. "Hmm. I thought their name was (Y/N)."

"You must be thinking of someone else."

"I'm quite certain that I'm not."

Wally's eyes widened, along with his smile. "So you already know who they are?"
