Pulling up to the school I could feel my heart racing. It looked more like a castle than a school which means the likelihood of me getting lost is extremely high. It was made of old brick with moss and vines growing on it. Countless windows as well. My mind was spinning thinking about being inside something so enormous and breathtakingly beautiful.
Marcus pulled up behind the school into an underground garage where he parked in the corner. Getting out of the Range Rover Echo and I made our way following Marcus to an elevator to get back up to the school. Echo was turning her head so much to see everything I thought her neck might snap. She was in complete awe of the school, though I don't blame her it is a gorgeous building.
Coming out of the elevator, we were now serving and dodging other students and a few teachers as Marcus led us to the office for our schedules and locker keys. The inside was just as captivating, it has this perfect balance of light and dark academica feel to it.
Standing in front of two huge oak doors I took a deep breath. We all rehearsed our new identities during the ride here. Marcus already attending the school will still be Marcus. Echo's new name is Maddy or Maddison Pearson. As for me, I am now Wynter Knights. Echo is still trying to find a nickname for me.
Going into the office there were bookshelves filled with books and small little antiques. A chandelier hung from the ceiling and an extremely expensive-looking rug was under our feet. A large dark wood desk sat in the middle of the room with an office chair behind it.
"Hello there. You two must be Maddison and Wynter I presume?"
Turning to face the voice, a man that was no taller than six feet stood there with a smile on his face. He looked either Scottish or Irish I couldn't tell, and he had an American accent only making it harder to tell.
Echo nodded. 'Does he have an interpreter for me?'
"My friend wants to know if you got her an interpreter."
The Principal nodded. "You are. I spoke with Abby on the phone not too long ago. She said it would be best if you girls stuck together."
Echo smiled in excitement while I silently thanked Shadow and nodded. He gave us our keys and schedules and laid out the ground rules of the school. He had Marcus show us around the school for our tour. Having him do the tour was annoying since all the girls were googly-eyed and drooling over him the entire time. Also glaring at Echo and me for some reason I don't care to know.
We had math first which Echo had to help me with because numbers and I do not get along. History was next where we had a very boring lesson on the War of 1812. The English Language Arts class has been my favorite so far, we talked about Edgar Allen Poe and starter to read some of his stories.
The bell rang dismissing us for lunch as Echo grabbed my arm and began to pull me out of the classroom before she turned to me. 'I don't know how to get there.'
'Either do I. Guess we'll have to walk around until we find it.' I shrugged and began heading in a random direction with Echo behind me.
Turning the corner I hit something which resulted in me hitting my ass on the floor. Echo giggled behind me as I stood up to see someone standing there. I'm guessing I just ran into him. He smiled and put his hand out for me to shake. "You know, you don't have to do the whole bump into me thing to get to know who I am. The name is Zane."
"I promise you it was only an accident." In defense, my arms automatically crossed over my chest as I stood up straighter.
He must have realized I wasn't going to shake his hand he dropped it back to his side. "Okay fine, I believe you. But I can guarantee you that you will want to learn eventually."
