Vivienne checks her clock, 7 AM. She struggles with sleeping during the night time. She has been up painting, it helps her calm down; letting her focus on the present, the only time she's not worrying about what did or what could happen. Painting has gotten a little boring and she headed to her bed.
She rested her eyes for a good 2 minutes before something interrupted, I guess she wasn't going to get good sleep anytime soon. It was a knock at the door. Vivienne reached for the door knob wondering who is at her door. Joel usually just barges in. She opened the door and met eyes with Maria. "Hey Viv, Joel left the house open and I let myself in if you don't mind. He hasn't come back yet and-" Vivienne paused for a moment, wiping out all the information Maria was blabbing about. "Joel hasn't showed up yet?"

I didn't want to assume, but I know Joel. He's smart and can get himself out of any situation. Hearing Maria say he never came back brought a pain to my chest. I have to go and find him before something happens.
Going out in a snow storm isn't the most comfortable thing, but I need to find Joel. A couple miles away from Jackson I spot a house with it's lights on. Brown, cabin style, a pile of infected in-front of its gate. Huh, they're freshly killed. I get off the horse and try to get inside the house.
